How does that even happen? Clearly no one does reference checks.

I feel sorry for them.

However, since no one can openly talk about how he harmed the work/education culture at SSFS, there is no stopping him.

This new position seems to be more of the "consultancy" type, he'll talk and push his consultant company to provide training to unsuspecting schools. it's what he knows best to do. So perhaps he won't have the direct control over a school's day to day operations to actual ruin another way. One can at least hope that much.

He's also still on the board at Lowell, per their website.

Well, as we have seen, being on the board isn't necessarily being active in anything, so him being on the lowell board probably doesnt effect them at all. if he's also provided them with services and making money that way, I dont know how he'd be on the board.

We are leaving too. We joined SSFS in US this past school year and are running out of there as fast as we can. It is not value for money in the current environment and is far too expensive for us to be a part of the recovery plan. I'm not going to pontificate on whose fault it is - it feels like it lies in a number of places but the board knew what it was getting with Rodney and now that the world is moving away from DEI as a priority so is SSFS. For all its quaker values, I'm sure that his relentless focus whether in his own business or at the school was not aligned. All of that being said - I don't find it likely things will improve in the near future. I want my kid to have a good high school experience and they will be graduating before SSFS will turn this ship around. Also agree with the comment about an experienced senior retired head...doesn't seem that was the route. taken. I get people with whose kids have been in the school for long periods time but isnt enough of a reason to stay IMO (though no judgement)

Same for us. We could not deal with the being a part of the recovery plan. As an US student, that's just not something we could justify. A school is just a school, and there are many good options in town.

Joined US as well last year. But my DC very happy and we love the community and faculty, so for us it’s worth it to stay.

There is no way he could quit in July and in August already has a high position in another Quaker organization. How can any organization post an open req, review resumes, interview multiple candidates, do reference checks, and then hire someone and update their website in just one month? Obviously he was looking well before he quit SSFS. He was planning this all along.

Yeah he probably quit ssfs after he got his new job.

Well since he found a new job so quickly - with another Quaker organization - clearly these people aren’t hard to dupe. I can’t even fathom how he landed the position in barely a month. Was he searching even before he left? Cause how does a search and interview process go so quickly?

Unless there wasn't a search or process at all.

I mean it’s all so gross and unethical.

Oh well that answers that. It's just a farce then. Haha.

Hastily hiring RG is really its own punishment.

It’s not hasty if he was hired by his own company. It’s just “gross and unethical” as the earlier poster said.

Search for a clip of RG giving a talk and how what’s “great” when he runs the show is that he can “give myself the best positions”. He says this with a knowing laugh.

It made me sick to my stomach to see how he talks about his control over things. He knows he’s untouchable.
