Maybe the civil rights leaders should have only focused on what would be best for African Americans and Native Americans. Forget immigrants, including those from Africa.

Black Americans should thank slavery.
Otherwise they woud've been somewhere in Africa today.

It's NEVER about merit. Universities started as polishing schools and networking opportunities for rich white dudes which is why they didn't even have high standards for grades back in the day and you had to submit a headshot with your application. Take a look at JFK's application to Harvard if you don't believe me:

Quiet as it's kept, colleges know if your family is wealthy and well-connected when a student applies. All that info goes to the Development office. Those kids have an easier entry and experience in school on the whole. It's kind of a joke if you've seen it in practice.

Opinion by Chief justice Roberts

So it applies to public and private, ok.

The real question is will it apply to DCUM's rabid anti-asian posters, too.

I say it should.

As Steve Martin said in The Jerk, “You mean I’m not black?”

Interesting enough, there is now AI that detects race based on a person's name.

It is a conundrum. Racism was a genuine presence in American history yet American blacks have the highest standard of living of blacks globally, possibly excepting Canada whose black population is predominately recent migrants from the Caribbean. \\

The original SCOTUS ruling on AA made clear it was only meant to be temporary and spoke of a 25 year time frame, and that was in the 1960s. I'd side with the argument that AA has done its job and it's time to move on. In a society when we've had a black president, a current black VP, two blacks on the court, black governors and senators, black celebrities, black leaders everywhere, it's hard to keep arguing racism is holding black Americans back in 2023.

White liberals showing their true racist color...
Not surprised at all. Knowing this for too long.
As a matter of fact, Asians exceled in all of the "Personal essays, community service, School actitvies, and interviews". You NPC white inbreeds have no substance except your hollow talks and pretentiousness.

Number of Asian students will increase at most of the elite schools.

It'll at least get to the level of UCB.

Lol—not at private colleges. Admission to the schools Asians really want (Stanford, Harvard, Yale etc, vs. UC whatever) will remain about the same, with small incremental increases here and there.

Remember, applicants can still reveal their race in the essay. And you can’t hide the names Wang, Wong, Kang, Patel, etc.

There is nothing new under the sun.

Ok, there are always going to be well connected wealthy legacy students. For the rest of us, we need to level the playing field starting in preK.

When did any civil rights leaders ever focused on immigrants? Who the eff need your help anyways? Maybe now is an exception since they're focusing on the ILLEGAL immigrants?

Why do you think you are the superior race?

Why do you think that putting down whites in the U.S. is going to help you?

You ran your own country down, now you are looking to run down our country too?

Didn't know Asians started to immigrate to the US because of MLK. I know you guys are bad at math and science and didn't know you're so bad at history too. So what are you good at?

Knowing racism when we see it.

If you hate it here so much, why stay where you hate it?

Incorrect. The 25-year estimate was written in the court’s decision in the 1990s by Justice Sandra Day O’Connor
