While I don't WANT any leader to be insider trading or tax evading, it doesn't threaten security. So day to day yes I'm MUCH less concerned about it than street crime. I know people love to spin it as you're picking on communities of color etc. But if communities of color were insider trading that wouldn't affect my or anyone's physical security either; when they are holding up people at ATMs, that's a potential physical harm right there. |
You realize it's a shithole to live in too, right? Lived there for 12 years and moved here just 4 years ago. You're lying to yourself if you're saying day to day life in Manhattan hasn't gone downhill; just go walk around the streets and look at the homeless and mentally ill camping out. And sure it's the economic engine - my entire career has been tied to Wall Street and still is. Yet it's 2021 not 1995, you can be tied to that economic market without having to live there. So it's in my benefit to be tied to growth economies but living in decent places, and I'd like to see those decent places NOT go downhill - which is what happens when you take a soft on crime, equality for all, we can never make a homeless person move bc he has rights too - stance. |
No. Women all over VA are entitled to bodily autonomy. Not the just the rich or those in NoVA. |
No, they don’t. They only care about their guns, owning the libs, freedumbs and flying their confederate flags. |
So is Youngkin. It’s a statistical dead head. Some polls have Youngkin leading likely voters. Some have McAuliffe. Republicans should take their leader’s guidance and stay home. |
Wow. Can you be any more condescending or bigoted? It's a good thing you are not able to vote in this election. You know so little about the state and its residents. Please, just stay in your little liberal "progressive" enclave and keep out of the rural parts of this country. We don't want anything to do with you. |
I wish it were that simple. Alas it is not. The criminality at the top can and does have serious national security concerns wrt our relationships w/ Russia, China etc. Not sure if you missed it, but there was serious concern w/ Trump’s dealings w/ Russia and the leverage Russia may have had over him due to the financial arrangements. It may not be quite as visible to you, but it is certainly the case that criminality at the top leaves you vulnerable. Maybe less so from a random gunshot but more so for international attacks and war which won’t always look like bullets but can destroy the country nonetheless. Let alone that you should really think about the effect it has on the population to watch the people at the top repeatedly break the law. You think that makes it MORE likely for others to obey the law? PRobably not. |
I want progressivism. I am actually kind of upset because we were promised socialism if Biden was elected. He has been in office 10 months and there’s no socialism. Where is my socialism? |
In my 34 years living in Alexandria City, I’ve never seen so many yard signs for a Republican candidate. |
I mean you keep telling yourself that - that anyone voting GOP or not wanting progressivism is inbred, gun toting, flying a confederate flag, and living in a mountain town of 1000 people 3 hrs west of Richmond and dating their cousin. But reality is I'm def considering a Youngkin vote - Arlington resident; 10+ years on Wall Street living in NYC before moving here 5 years ago; ivy grad; not white and not Christian; blah blah. YOU are the reason why Trump won - YOU ALL have decided you know everything about everything and anyone who doesn't fit in your exact vision must be an inbred gun toting hillbilly with an 8th grade education and you can just ignore them. Hate to break it to you but that isn't the case. Do you think the statistical tie between Youngkin and McA right now breaks down just into confederate flag fliers vs. NoVA? You realize the lack of population density in southern/western Va makes that impossible right? Do you not think Youngkin has made inroads in NoVa amongst people who may not even own a gun, who may have voted Dem many times before? |
Blame all the obstructionist idiots like the ones here supporting trump-youngkin. They’re the ones holding everything back. |
The astroturfing is well funded. All those signs were paid for with Koch money. |
I get it - I'm not saying insider trading/financial crime is victim-less. But day to day, I'm not thinking about it as I'm contemplating running out to the grocery store at 10 pm and will I feel ok loading groceries in the parking lot at that hour and maybe I shouldn't go, but I have the time/energy right now and won't have to then worry about then going out on the weekend when stores will be crowded and it'll take more time. To me that kind of crime matters A LOT more. YMMV. |
Cool story bro |
Uh we're holding it back on purpose. It's not an accident. We legit do not want to pay back your or your kids' student loans, sorry. |
