Let's hear it for Birth Control Pills!!!

All this hate for birth control pills is absurd. This is such a good, important medicine. Literally changed women's lives.
I started in my early 20s and got two weeks a month of my life back. No depression, or weight gain, or other side effects.

BC in our water systems is an environmental disaster.
Let’s just be honest, OP.

Why don't you care about women being in control of their lives?

Birth control pills are great! I was on them for 12 years and just went off late last year. I will say that I feel better off and it is cool and freeing to finally be in tune with my body for the first time in a long time. But they served their purpose amazingly for me for a long time and for that I’m grateful.

Consuming BC pills is the only way you know how to control your life?

lol on BCP being bad for the environment

How One Bad Science Headline Can Echo Across the Internet
Recent articles claiming birth control causes “transgender” fish show how science communication can mislead—even when it relies on facts

Removing the Pill “from the market will have a negligible effect on the environment, aquatic life and human health,” Wise and her co-authors concluded in 2011. However, it “would be detrimental to women’s health and their ability to decide the timing and spacing of their children and would have societal and global implications.”

You mean chastity belts?
It might have been filthy concept but certainly no environmental disaster.

Question:
It was not that difficult to invent a pill for a woman. A pill that affects the whole body in many ways.
Perhaps the question is why don't we invent one for guys now and let them pay the price of pooping
pills daily that affect their whole system? Fair question?

I loved the pill. Loved that it cut down my pain, lessened my periods, let me proceed with no fear of pregnancy.

When I went off the pill, I felt worse, not better.

Wouldn't it be safer and better to have a cheaper ovulation tests that a women
could use safely to know when the sex would not result in a pregnancy?
How about really cheap tests? Make them cost like a penny a day?...
