Missing Vallow/Ryan Children

I don't get this case. These two kids (7 year old and 17 year old) haven't been seen since Sept but the mom (Lori Vallow) is still traipsing about the country with her new husband (Chad Daybell). She was given a recent date to produce the children (who she says are staying somewhere safe) but failed to do so.
Lori's ex-husband was killed by her brother in July 2019. Lori's new husband's ex wife died suddenly in Oct 2019 and the Lori's brother died in Dec 2019 of unknown causes. They say she may be found in contempt of court for not bringing the children to the police by the deadline. Lori and Chad have been hanging out in Hawaii. I don't get why she hasn't been arrested? Minor children have been missing for months and three people in your immediate circle have died in the last 6 months. OMG, those poor kids. I hope they are found safe soon but judging from what has happened to this couple's exes and Vallow's brother it does not sound good.
I'm sure that the grandparents are absolutely frantic. It sounds as though this woman was somewhat normal until this previous year? That just seems really hard to believe and I think that her family may be in a bit of denial. There almost had to have been some warning signs for years leading up to this. |

OMG the new husband's former wife also died under suspicious circumstances! So both of their exes AND the woman's brother died mysteriously, they haven't seen the kids in 4 months and no one is talking about arresting them???

Yeah, that is what I don't get. They are hanging out on a beach in Hawaii and 'may' find her in contempt of court for not bringing the children to police by the deadline. I don't get why they aren't arrested and there isn't a massive search underway for the kids. Either the police know something that isn't being published or no one cares about these kids (other than the grandma that keeps trying to get it in the news). |

Flip through this slide show of a timeline of events. It turns out Lori's previous husband (father of her child) also died but in 2018. So she had one ex husband die in 2018, and one die in 2019. It reads like a murder mystery.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks like this! But also, when there's a line like "adopted father and biological granduncle" and multiple suspicious deaths (in less than a year, no less), Dateline might need more than 2 hours! |

I didn't know either but when you go to the detailed timeline page, it says that Charles Vallow is the brother of one of JJ's grandparents. Its those same grandparents that alerted police to the missing children and are desperately trying to find them. Chad has a dead spouse, Lori has 2 dead spouses and a dead brother, and Lori's niece attempted to kill her husband after he says she started following Lori's strange religious beliefs. |

Chad and Lori's niece's mother died as well while at home with the murderous brother who later killed Lori's last ex husband. The official cause of death was insulin overdose however the brother used her credit card to make a number of purchases while she was dead in the house. No immediate calls for help were made. So Melanie - the niece lived with Lori for awhile after her mother's death. Multiple people including Tylee's father and later tried many many times to get custody of her and later of JJ. Her father went back to court at least 4 times trying to get custody. At least recently, the niece's husband who was shot at (but survived) got full custody of his four kids. JJ has autism and lived with different family members until Charles Vallow and Lori adopted him. Lori's older son who it doesn't seem lived with her but saw his siblings reasonably often has been making some videos. He is pretty sure the kids are dead. The kids both witnessed Lori's brother shoot and kill Charles Vallow (her most recent ex husband) however Lori and the brother claimed it was self defense saying Charles attacked him with a baseball bat. He was never charged or arrested for that death. Lori, Melanie (her niece), and Alex (her brother) all moved to a new city in September 2019 and all three married locals by November 2019 that they didn't know prior to moving! I have spent way too much time this afternoon reading about this case. |
