I feel awful for those poor innocent kids.
This being a cult case, do they suspect a cause of death? What bizarre cult belief would possibly ever encourage the parents to do something like this to to her own children??!? |
| It’s not a cult case. Is a serial killer using a cult as an excuse. Lori was killing way before she met Chad. |
| They thought the children were possessed. |
| I'm gonna bet that magical Uncle Alex did the other /attempted killings. |
That is so sad and twisted. And there are several suspicious adult deaths surrounding these two. What else do we know about their cult group? Who else is in the cult? |
| A neighbor interviewed today said there were several bonfires last September in the backyard. They had never seen the Daybells have bonfires before. And Tammy Daybell was alive back then -- did she know?? |
| The cult is an outgrowth of the traditional Mormon church. All the people associated with the case are LDS. Chad took it to extremes. They are all still church-attending Mormons. Even Chad and Lori attended the local Mormon ward for church services when they fled to Hawaii. |
It is unclear whether any of the Daybell (adult) children were still living at /frequently visiting their family home last fall. Did *they* know?? There are 5 adult Daybell children. How could any of them not know their father's extreme beliefs if many others did too -- and followed him? |
Nonsense. Did Lori think husband #3 & 4 were possessed too? |
Wow what?? |
you've sent me down a massive rabbit hole, thanks. This story...

Chad and Lori did not marry in a temple and therefore were not "officially" sealed, though "spiritually" Chad and Lori may have considered themselves to be sealed...
Remember, when Chad and Lori first met, Chad told Lori they have been together since the Preexistence -- which is where Mormons (LDS) believe spirit babies (all of us) live prior to being sent to Earth to be born. What, the missionaries who come to your door don't tell you this part?? He told her they had been married twice before in other lives and had been sealed. Though of course, Chad was also married/sealed in the Celestial Kingdom (highest level of Heaven, out of 3 levels) to other women because polygamy still exists in Heaven. All TBMs (True Believing Mormons) believe this. What, the missionaries never told you this part? Women, you will be one of many wives of your husband in Heaven. You will give birth to endless spirit babies there. Every one of those reporters and interviewed families and friends on television are Mormon. They all believe this stuff. (JJ's biological grandparents are not LDS; Chad and Lori adopted JJ.) Chad took the basic Mormon tenets and expanded them exponentially. -- Presbyterian married to an *ex* True Believing Mormon who resigned from the "Church" on his 30th birthday |
husband #4 was Charles Vallow, who was killed by Lori's brother Alex Cox. One of the sad parts of the story is that apparently Charles really loved Lori and converted from Catholicism to Mormonism for her and become very active in the Church. It was he who in his filed divorce papers related to the divorce attorney that Lori believed the kids had become zombies. That finally got the police's attention and got the ball rolling full-time. |
OK - but where does child sacrifice fit into all this? Surely a child murderer wouldn’t be allowed into any religion’s concept of heaven, right? |
| I work for NCMEC and this case hit some of our team particularly hard. We see a lot of awful stuff, but frig... |
