Still using lovey from infancy?

Anonymous
Are your tweens or teens still regularly needing to sleep with their lovey that they've had from infancy? When did it fade for your kids?

Yep - my 12 year old still sleeps with her blanket. It’s a part of the family

I’m 41 and my teddy from infancy is still in my bed. When I put him with the other animals, DS always moves him back.

I slept with him until I went away to college, and I left him at home.

Yup. Fourteen year old dd still has her blanket that she sleeps with. DS just went off to college with a “Webkins”’stuffed animal he got when he was 5.

My ds is nearly 10, and I just paid through the nose to have his baby quilt repaired because he's slept with it every night since he was a toddler and it was literally falling apart. He was so happy to get it back in good shape. I expect he'll be using it for more years to come.

My 50 y. o. brother still travels with his childhood pillow.

So my 10 year old’s lovey is the 6’ long breathable bumper from her crib. Yes, it is still in her bed every night and she brings it on vacation

My teen can sleep without it but prefers to sleep with it.

Yep. White flat diapers “bop bop”. We have 3. They aren’t so white anymore. 11yo thumb sucker.

Yes, 14 y.o DS has a stuffed lion that still sleeps in his bed, goes to Summer camp, and gets put in his back pack for sleepovers. Several of his friends have them too. I never had one growing up but both my kids do.

My almost 11 yo boy sleeps with blankey most of the time. We'll see how this goes after puberty.

I slept my with blanket until I was like 15. And I had a tiger I slept with from age 10 to age 33 when my dog ripped it to shreds after I had my second baby.

I am a totally normal person. And I wasn’t the only one at college with a lovey.

Wow. OP here. My kids are 13 and 16 and still want their small baby blankets in bed with them. I'd started to wonder about this but I can see it's common.

Same. God forbid we leave it behind. I might as well get that thing a passport too.
