Anyone else watching it? I just binged the first two episodes last night. I love Jason Bateman.

Yeah I think its great. I binged it yesterday too - I hoped early enough that it didn't affect my sleep. I was wrong. Terrible nightmares.

But I'll keep watching it. Its got some fantastic actors in it too.

The book was great! I am almost afraid to watch and have it be ruined for me.

Watch it! I loved the book too. And while you're at it, watch Mr. Mercedes as well, if you haven't.

Holy crap this show is so good. It’s hard work to watch but SO GOOD.

Great show! And 3 episodes in, not gratuitously gory or sexually violent like a lot of King's stuff (and it does have some gore and referenced sexual violence).

There was a book or short story I read many, many years ago that also had a killer doppelganger theme. What was that? The lead character was an author. I thought this was based on that at first, but it's obviously a different story altogether.

Another person who read the book. Did not realize the show was already on HBO. I’ll have to watch it

The Dark Half?

Yes, that was it, thanks! This seems better.

The music is frightening to me—minimalistic but so very effective. And I don’t frighten easily. I think I need to chase it with some mindless comedy or something. But I’m really enjoying it.

OMG HBO has ruined my life. Now I'm just spending my days waiting for the next episode! Obsessed and I'm not usually into this Stephen King stuff but so good. So well acted!

It's really good-- Sundays are great right now. Watching Sanditon on PBS and The Outsider on HBO.

I find most of King’s stuff too over the top to be enjoyable, but so far I am really enjoying this series. It reminds me of the shining in that it’s mostly grounded in reality but has just enough supernatural to make it interesting and foreboding.

honestly I think you must need new glasses. I'm not being snarky. I found it really gory and gruesome esp in the 1st ep.

Well, like I said, there is some gore, but none of the lingering shots on the body or long descriptive flashbacks of the killing like you'd see even on network TV. I think Game of Thrones was more gruesome, and that wasn't even a horror genre.
