Still love the show, but in Episode 8 it was weird how they all traveled to the town to stay with that guy (don't want to spoil) and then they were like "Hey, I'm going to run a few errands not with the guy..."
People! Stay with the guy! |
yes I agree |
Agreed. I don't love the show because of this kind of stuff. I watch the show because of Cynthia. She is AMAZING. I'd never heard of her until the Oscars.
Unlike pps I find the music overdone. |
Oh this show is so, so good. I LOVE the sweet romantic friendship between Holly and Andy, such a refreshing change of pace.
I wasn't super into the lead (I guess I didn't buy into his character as a detective), but he grew on me. Cynthia Erivo is an amazing actress. I, too, had never seen her work before. This is a difficult character to play yet she makes Holly so human and relatable. |
Agree this is amazing. But something not everybody knows is that Stephen King himself hated Kubrick‘s The Shining. He actually redid it as a miniseries on ABC a while back. |
In addition to that bugging me, I found it odd that they ALL wanted to stay with him while they wait for a kid to get killed. Nobody was like, maybe we should also try to prevent a kid from getting killed or at least tell the public to be extra vigilant. I guess they didn't know location, but still all the focus on protecting the guy and none on trying to prevent a horrific child murder was a bit odd. |
So what did everyone think of the ending? And odds on it coming back? |
With the scratch on Holly, they have definitely left an opening. I would love to see it back. That actress has skyrocketed in fame, though. Hope she remains available for another season. |
I was disappointed. It just didn’t flow like the rest of the show. And anticlimactic. Did they change it from the book? To leave open a sequel option? Also, who were those kids in the cave? And why the Ralph solo confrontation? That part was clunky and made no sense. |
Wait... Holly got scratched by it? I missed that part I was confused by how they explained it all away at the end, but glad they cleared Terry Maitland’s name. So sad about Andy though. |
I thought it started off strong but I thought it got boring around episode 3 or 4.
|
I liked the show but found the ending of El Cuco (at least THAT El Cuco) a little lame. "Here, like there while I smash your head with a rock." It just didn't do it for me.
Loved Ben Mendelsohn and Cynthia Erivo and would watch them read the phone book together. |
I missed that too. |
Insanely slow and boring. Very anticlimactic. |
yes, me too. |
