Who will be Governor of Maryland after Hogan?

Anonymous
Will Republicans continue their streak and place someone else in office OR will the Democrats come back and win the seat?

Calling it now, Calvin Ball will be our next Governor.

He'd be a good choice.

Hogan is proving himself to be an asshole Republican and Maryland is sick of Republicans.

LOL

No way. Agree it will be Rutherford.

I hope Craig Rice runs.

I’d like him to run for County Executive and get Marc out if there. Craig is moderate by comparison. But he’d never win the Silver Spring/Takoma Park vote....he could win the gubernatorial vote though.

I moved to Maryland about 16 years ago and don't understand how a state dominated by Democrats for so long manages to have such a short bench of qualified candidates for governor. Ehrlich and Hogan aren't amazing politicians but even I (die hard liberal) had a hard time pulling the lever for Katherine Kennedy Townsend ("I have Kennedy in my name") or Anthony Brown or Ben Jealous.

Seems like I should be prepared for another candidate from the Democratic establishment who has spent their life in government and has all the inspiration of a dish towel. My wife will join a million other Democrats who vote for the Republican businessman who will be our next governor.

THat's because the Maryland Democratic Party has done a terrible job at stacking the bench.

I hope Rushern Baker runs again

Would be nice for supposedly progressively Maryland to finally elect a female or non-white Governor.

Because Dems love to whine, not to govern.

And it shows.

Martin O’Malley. He had a fundraiser at The Dubliner on Wednesday night but it was ruined when a Republican showed up.

He’s not. He’s super smart and gets complex policy. Most of the Councilmembers don’t.
