Liberal obgyn in moco or fairfax area-trigger warning

Anonymous
Interested in finding a new obgyn who will not judge me for having a previous termination. It wasn't that long ago. I'm not here to talk about that. I would just like some recs for an obgyn who is pro choice and who won't hold it against me.

Also-do I have to transfer my records to a new obgyn or can I just start fresh?

Try planned parenthood.

I doubt many ob-gynecologists would openly judge you b/c they don’t want to offend patients. That’s not good for business.

I have had mildly inappropriate things said to me by staff like when history taking.

Pretty sure planned parenthood doctors don't deliver babies in hospitals.

I think any female ob under the age of 50 should be fine. The most I can imagine them saying is that there are certain risk associated with a pregnancy soon after a D&C. (At least, that's what I was advised when I had a D&C.)

Just stay away from OBs associates with catholic hospitals.

I just didn’t tell them about it

why did you put a trigger warning on this OP? you don't need to be ashamed for having terminated a pregnancy. It's not a dirty secret.

You don't have to tell them about it. I never have in my 36 years of seeing various ob/gyns....

I considered not telling the docs, but it was part of my medical history. I don’t see why this would be an issue unless, like pp says, you go to a catholic doc/hospital.

At least 25% of women have had one.

Of the doctors i've met at Foxhall OBGYN, they've all been very accommodating and understanding of concerns, etc. They are located in the Sibley medical office building.

In Montgomery County try any dr associated with Capital women’s care. There are quite a few practices.

Any doctor who is good will not judge you or pry into anything you would not like to discuss.

Up to you whether you want to bring your records they are yours so your choice.

Also don’t be offended if they ask you the reason for the D&C. They may just be trying to determine if it was due to a fetal abnormality or missed miscarriage. In medical terms, all terminations of pregnancy are referred to as an abortion, including a miscarriage. (eg, I had a D&c after an “incomplete spontaneous abortion”).

It's your body and your choice and THEY are not allowed to judge you and if they do, I'm pretty sure there'll be legal ways to deal with that! anyway, try CWC in northern Virginia or DC and yes I think you should tell that you did that just in case there were any complication in your pregnancy!
