Liberal obgyn in moco or fairfax area-trigger warning

This is DC, not Alabama! You have nothing to be ashamed of. You made the choice that was right for you at the time. Pregnancy termination is way way way way more common than people realize and just about every OB in this area would have scores of patients who have ended a pregnancy. My OB office (N. VA physicians to women) seem very open minded and liberal, but I've never discussed this topic with them specifically. I really don't think you'll have trouble finding a good OB in this region.

Thanks you guys. My previous obgyn won't see me anymore because of this so that is why I was concerned. And it's a CWC doctor. Do you think in general a female would be understanding/supportive? And do You think I can basically say I had a d&c and leave it at that?

I had a D&C after a missed miscarriage which just shows on my medical record as a termination/abortion, without any details. I gave birth twice at Georgetown and saw basically every OB in the practice. It wasn't an issue. At all.

I'm 10:28 and yes and yes. I'm sorry your former OB put you through this.

No worries at all switch doctors this is a no brainer. How dare they treat you that way.

I would try a female. CWC has a group near Shady Grove hospital in Rockville I’m pretty sure they are all women. Excellent doctors and very caring.

I’m so so sorry this happened!

Wow. I go to a CWC practice (in Rockville) and I'd be screaming to their President and CEO about it if I was dismissed as a patient for this.

I agree, but I also wouldn't give up on the practice if you like them otherwise, I'd just find a different doctor there. I'm so sorry your doctor did that to you, what a bitch.

OK, well I once saw an OB associated with a Catholic hospital early in a pregnancy (was trying to find a doc for delivery) and he told me in no uncertain (and very judgmental terms) that his practice doesn't do abortions. Just because you had a good experience doesn't mean everyone does.

OMG I am so sorry. What a prick, why go into OB-GYN if you hate women?

The only reason that you might need to tell them more is that they might want to know if there were complications that led to the D&C, so they know what to look for. I am SO SORRY you had that experience, I really, really hope the next doctor you try isn't like that.

I have never had any judgment for discussing my termination in terms of health history.

In law school I did have a weird experience when a gynecologist asked if I was sexually active and I said, "yes in the sense of not being a virgin, but no in the sense of having sex right now." And she looked at me in disgust. I was 24 and in NYC, maybe she was ashamed of me for not being more exciting?

OMG!!! that really scared me because I go to CWC and I won't allow anyone to judge me because of something I decided to do!!! do you think you'll be able to say out loud the name of that stupid person (doesn't deserve to be called human neither a doctor)

Capital Women’s Care. Any doctor who openly judges a patient should not be a doctor. That is very old school. Maybe you are perceiving something that isn’t there OP.

The doctor will not longer see her as a patient. How would OP be perceiving something that isn’t there?

OMG, I had the same experience in law school but in Boston, not NYC! I've always wondered about her reaction.
