Mother of 2 from VERY prominent Richmond family arrested by FBI for child p@rn, exploitation, etc

Can somebody recap what the 2019 charge was?
Anonymous
Unlawful public undressing in a park. The actual charging document is linked in the Daily Mail article above. She did not appear in court, so was convicted. Her father personally got it thrown out on appeal.

I actually saw that and found that behavior pretty despicable. Accusing this guy of also being a child abuser because he commented “ nice” on a picture of the children. What did these people gain from making those comments? As someone on the post pointed out, her children may see her Facebook page one day. yes I believe she should be locked up and worse, but there’s no reason to attack random people on her page. How many people in our own family and family group have posted comments about our kids that could be looked at with suspicious eyes if we were in the same situation?

I agree that harassing her Facebook friends is lame, but if her kids are searching on the internet about their mom, random comments made by Facebook randos is the least of their problems. Let’s hope they never read the complaint / statement of facts!

She’s 45 so I doubt he would be that old. I’m 50 and my dad is 74.

He personally got her conviction thrown out on appeal in 2019.

The PR spin that her family tried and tried to get her help and are glad she is in custody is BS. In 2019 she could have received court mandated treatment, incarceration and possible placement on a registry. Family literally personally had the conviction reversed. Their actions suggest, rather, narcissism and possible abuse of E that lead to another round of multigenerational abuse. Even now her father offered to be her custodian. SICK, and it did not start with her in all likelihood.

But her previous arrest was just for having sex in a park. Is that really a red flag for needing treatment? Lots of people like to have sex in “exotic” locations. I remember back in the 90’s, the “what’s the weirdest place you’ve ever had sex?” Was a common topic.

She’s looking at spending a long time in prison. If I were her, I’d want the best attorney money could buy. I’m shocked her family hasn’t hired some well connected, well skilled criminal defense attorney.

This may very well be intentional.

Her father PERSONALLY got her 2019 sex crime conviction thrown out on appeal.

A high priced lawyer will take over closer to the hearing date, mark my words.

Entirely possible. But 2019 was four years ago. I can see the point of view of the family if they have done everything they feel they can to help her and aren't going to do any more. From the little I have read/seen she is either suffering from a horrific mental illness or she is an evil person. They may think prison isn't a bad place for her to be at this point.

Uh, no. The father who got her off in 2019 offered to be her pretrial custodian! They are narcs who may well have abused or enabled abuse of her as a kid, so she thinks it's "normal." 2019 was a missed opportunity. Could have been compelled to get treatment by the court.

I’m not sure you know what a narc is.

NARCISSISTS, dumbass. The kind like the HUNTONS who care more about family reputation than her getting compelled treatment. NARCISSISTS or narcs in COMMON PARLANCE have a higher rate of incest and child sexual abuse because they do not feel rules apply to them. See also, elite deviance.

Some people, so hell bent on showing others how dumb they are try to make threads about horrific abuse of kids all about how smart they are. Like a narcissist would. Oh, wait...

Different poster from who you are replying to, but I have never heard of narc used to refer to a narcissist.

My guess is that her father helped her with his legal connections. In Virginia it’s standard 50/50 custody and it’s very difficult to get anything more unless you can prove extreme circumstances or if one parent agrees to have less. Sounds like Eleanor would not agree to less, also sounds like Joel did try to prove extreme circumstances but it wasn’t enough to convince the judge as they still split custody. Hence since her father has been involved several times in Eleanor’s legal issues, only makes sense he’s be involved here as well to help Eleanor against Joel.

I also notice the article stating that when she was trying to get her 2019 unlawful dressing conviction appealed, her father represented her and used a Hunton email address, which is strange because her father doesn’t work at Hunton and never did. In the past he claimed the firm had a nepotism clause so he wasn’t allowed to work there so he started his own practice. So how did he get a Hunton email address and why would he use it in this case rather than his regular business email? Why would be basically fake working at Hunton?

I also noticed that she had to do community service and where she did it. That church is pretty posh in Richmond and has a preschool, it’s across the street from St. Catherine’s and where her parents used to live. Her parents had to have pulled the strings to get her to do community service there.

I wondered why he and the brother didn’t work there?
Is this generation of the family really as rich and prominent as the previous generations? Her FB really doesn’t come across as belonging to a top of society socialite such as how she is being depicted.

So was she actually having sex with someone or is that just speculation? It could have been in a treed area at night while she was walking home with a guy she had been out with. Inappropriate behavior for a married woman, but hardly evidence that she is a perv.

I read an article about the 2019 incident. It was at 2pm, not in a secluded area. And yes she was actually having sex w someone, it’s not speculation.

It’s cliché to say hindsight is 20/20, but so true. I think most if not all families with means and influence will wield it to protect a loved one, and hope and believe that THIS is the turning point, THIS is the moment that they will make a change. What parent wouldn’t try to work out a community service deal for their teen who shoplifted or a kid who got caught with a fake id? The instinct not to ruin your loved one’s future by snowplowing legal troubles out of the way overrides any idea of sitting back and allowing natural consequences. And it does work sometimes - I have a few friends from high school, whose parents quashed underage drinking and event dui charges and now the kids are normal law abiding adults.

I agree with you mostly except that her 2019 arrest she was 41 and married w kids. That’s different than a parent bailing out a teenager who shoplifted or a college age student caught w fake id.

Ok, but that’s a sign that the marriage is in trouble, not a sign that she has mental health issues.

Her father agreed to be her custodian if the court gave her in-home detention while waiting for her trial. Doesn't sound like they have given up on her.

That's far, far different from paying for the best legal defense money can buy.

A 41 year old married woman with 2 kids and a St. Catherine's and UVA grad whose husband is a judge having public sex while undressed in a park in the afternoon?! That is very extreme behavior.!

I'm in the camp that is was both. I don't think we have any idea how long she was having issues/how long that has been known to her family. Obviously, what she's been arrested for now is a lot more serious than her 2019 arrest. I could barely read that daily mail article. Stomach turning.
