It’s all cyclical. If the program can’t get girls committed to top schools, they run. Metro’s 2025 class is spectacular and special and won’t happen again. Unless you want to go to Ohio Wesleyan, don’t bother with Metro. Husel has lots of D1 commits. Problem is over the past 4 years, these commits don’t play much, for the most part. Many D3 schools’ tuition is still cheaper versus a D1 “scholarship.” Keep that in mind. Club playing time in front of college coaches should be a priority. If your DD is at the bottom, change clubs immediately. Wolves and Freedom can be a far ride for the Nova players. Hammers and Xtreme are viable options.

Very astute observation. It's cyclical for sure. And I think all the exodus to Wolves is going to be interesting bc they are not all going to be on the "A" team. There are established players, families, etc. there.

As for D1- all fair points, as well.

For Husel, they've had lots of D1 and D3 commits. And they announced another accomplished coach on IG for their winter season.

Accomplished coaches can be expensive. Expect husel’s winter fees to go through the roof to pay for her.

That's a family decision, then. And none of your concern.

Sounds like it could be a concern for all DDs’ families interested in playing for Husel.

Winter teams have already been paid for so that's doubtful.

Were there a lot of cuts on NL? I heard they announced the teams last night. Not sure how they can field 90 players on u16. How many u16 teams are there?

Large clubs have this many players in an age group. It can be good and bad. You need practice space and coaches, which can be a challenge in this area.

Figure 9-10 girls on an indoor team and 16-18 on an outdoor team.

Several of the class of 28 left Metro because of the owner.

Metro is looking for players and GKs at the U16 level for this indoor season so if NL doesn’t pan out, try Metro.

There are four u19 indoor travel teams. I assume similar for u16.

It was more than just the owner and it was more than just 2028s.

I would really like to understand what was the "more" -- what in addition to the owner caused folks to leave Metro. I have heard rumors that he called last minute practices in far away places (like different states) and kids would be limited playing time if they didn't attend...I heard he fined girls if their bra strap was showing...I heard he offered to help families with both of their daughters to get the family to switch clubs, but then ignored the daughter that was not good....Is any of this true? What else, besides the owner was the issue? Communications, organizaitons, the other players? I have seen several clubs where the players yell at each other on the field and this seems like a horrible environment. I would just like to understand what made it so bad that people finally reached their breaking point after sticking with the club for so long (same with Husle) Seems like damage was already done, as far as dealing with potential craziness and emotional abuse, by the time these families started to leave. So why leave?

Festival & Shooting Stars Tournaments. So far out of the DMV teams, it looks like Freedom and Xtreme are winning. The other clubs, not so much.

Washington Wolves beat the WC Eagles - way to go!!!

You mean the same WC team that lost 8-0 to a different team before losing to Wolves by 2? Obviously it was the lowest of the WC teams. Probably a U16 or maybe even U14 team. Let's not get carried away.

Seriously. Must be a parent who moved their kids to Wolves looking to validate themselves.

A win is a win people. Looks like the WW parents made the right move. Playing well and winning games at a showcase versus the WC Eagles or any team really is the point.

Wolves is a social club. It is no longer considered elite. The club focuses on showing smiling children on instagram. Their record shows in major national and even local tournaments, they are not elite. Just average. The owner will help on college recruiting for her favorites and many have done well in the past. Current class of 2025s and 2026s have not faired great (Wolves got an a few players that were already committed transferring over to them in 2026 recruiting year). It’s a great club from a social angle. Children goof off, laugh etc. Paying close to 4K a year for that excluding travel, uniform , I think it’s too much for misuse of practice time (way too much standing around), favorites getting true coaching and touches on ball, and very limited playing time even at the lower ages. Again, a good average club but 4K is a steep price tag for average and limited skill growth.
