This is why 200+/- cops stood outside that classroom at Uvalde while a madman gunned down children and teachers, even though all those cops were wearing vests. Those cops know that there is nothing more deadly than high velocity rifle fire. That's why most if not all law enforcement organizations representing cops in the USA are supportive of assault weapons bans - they don't want to encounter perps with high velocity rifles, they would much, much rather encounter perps with handguns.

And yet this wasn’t fired by an assault weapon.

So what are we going to do about all these sniper rifles out there?

I understand he was instantly dead. But people usually wait for paramedics to arrive even when a person is killed. We don’t throw the body into the back of a car.

As previously posted, throwing into the back of a car is EXACTLY what the Secret Service did with a seriously wounded President Reagan.

And this former prosecutor has seen multiple instances where law enforcement or civilians have transported injured people to a hospital in a private vehicle.

Maybe you are entirely unfamiliar with life in rural America, in addition to being entirely unfamiliar with firearms. It doesn't help a victim to make them wait for the 10, 20, 30 minute arrival of an EMS team when they are all volunteer in the middle of the sticks and the nearest hospital is also the same distance away.

The rule to leave a victim in situ and await EMS does not always rightfully apply.
