| I need someone to untangle this Trump/Giuliani/Ukraine web for me like The Big Short. Can someone give it a go? Or point me to an article that will? I'm dizzy. |
| Richard Engel is doing an hour-long special on this Sunday night on MSNBC. Worth a look. |

I can point you to an NPR segment that did a nice job as of Tuesday evening on the overview of “why is it always the Ukraine”? It was playing when I left my office around 5:45. Check All things considered on the NPR app for Tuesday pm.
I haven’t heard NPR tonight. But good chance they did a nice job breaking it down in a way that was smart but understandable. It will also be on the app. |
| Can anyone recommend a good podcast that breaks it all down? |

Here is my best attempt. There is probably a deeper root, but I'll start for now with Paul Manafort. Giuliani and Trump are convinced that George Soros conspired with the DNC and some Ukrainians to frame Paul Manafort. They believe the same group covered up the fact that the DNC hack was an inside job and wrongly blamed it on Russia. They have been trying to find evidence of this.
Parnas and Fruman have apparently been funnelling foreign money into various campaigns, including Trump's. They have also been trying to hook Giuliani up with Ukrainians who might provide the evidence he is seeking. Coincidentally, they were represented in court today by Manafort's lawyer. Guiliani and Rick Perry have also been trying to steer Ukrainian energy contracts to US supporters. I believe that Parnas and Fruman are also involved in that somehow. As best I can tell, there are players who main motivation is money and players who main motivation is getting the goods on Clinton, Biden, Soros, etc. Guiliani is the bridge between the two groups. |
l DP. MSNBC is the most biased anti-Trump channel there is. It will be a one-sided hit job. Where can I read FAIR coverage? |
The Pro-trump media is mostly waving their hands and attacking the messenger. You're not going to find actual diagrams of this mess there. Here's an explainer from Buzzfeed. For the PP asking for podcasts, listen to the series of Today Explained podcasts over the last several days. They're all fairly short. You can skip over the Kurds one but there are several on the Ukraine mess. |

| What are the odds Trump will manage to slither out of this just like he has with everything else? |
I’m worried that this is getting too complicated for people to understand. |
Exactly. It's not catchy like "HER EMAILS". |
It kinda is. “HIS TREASON.” |
