What is going ON

Conway's huge essay is a big out for any Trump prosecution. Also, no matter how much we may disdain US President, do we really want him indicted with a crime? No. For history's sake we probably don't.

Yes! Why would you want him shielded from his crimes.

No one is above the law.

Because this is how the GOP has continued its grift for 40+ years. These guys get strung up on charges and then end up getting pardoned the next time a Republican becomes POTUS. This enables them to go into business, media, and political circles with their sins erased and allowed to continue the "conservative" grift.

If there are crimes, everyone needs to face real jail time.

If it is ultimately determined that he was an illigitmate president, then he should probably spend the rest of his days in confinement. And there is no reason the 4 "kids" shouldn't be held to account for their crimes against the country.

Anonymous wrote:Plot Summary:
Every single person in the Trump Administration is irredeemably corrupt. A bunch of them have focused on bribing and/or bullying government officials in Ukraine and the US State Department personnel there. Anyone who wouldn’t be bullied or bribed has been smeared and forced out of the way. Trump has his own simple personal and political agenda in the Ukrainian extortion scheme, and he has allowed his emissaries and hangers-on to smuggle their own shakedowns into the Trump coercion effort in Ukraine. A lot of people have been bothered by parts of this but did not have evidence of the full scheme, so they did not come forward. A whistleblower thought Trump had finally gone too far and filed a complaint, and now the dam has broken and more criminal conspiracies are being exposed every day.

So why hasn't public opinion turned?

40% of the public support any and all Republican corruption, conspiracy, and self-dealing because they have been conned into believing that they will benefit from their patronage. They don’t get that the self-dealing demagogues think of them as fools who are easily manipulated by appeals to race and religion to give them unconditional support. This part is not new or original to Trump. He is just another in a long history of populist demagogues who manipulate the people they claim to represent but are only in it for themselves and their close conspirators.

This. 30% are authoritarian, and they will not budge.

This. Nixon resigned with a 24% approval rating.

they arrested the Parnas and pal because they were fleeing the country. Giuliani is such a fountain of voluntary criminal statements that no prosecutorr in his right mind would arrest him yet. Trump they can’t arrest, but he is also building the case against himself every day he wakes up a free man.

In the preceeding couple weeks, Barr, Pence, Pompeo people at OPM and others have become implicated. DoJ and state level prosecutors will continue to give these clowns rope to hang themselves.

As Pelosi predicted, “Trump will impeach himself.”

BTW, I prefict that when Giuliani is finally arrested, his lawyers will have him examined by a psychiatrist and they will claim he has some form of early dementia.

So long as that dementia gets them held in a federal medical prison for the rest of their lives, fine.

He hasn’t been arrested yet because they expect to flip the dudes who have. They have some on Trump’s personal lawyer and fixer but with a flip they’ll have so much more.

And yet these guys were given the opportunity for freedom today with one million dollars bail each. Aren’t these people the definition of flight risk?

Any bail will involve ankle bracelets and surrender of passports.

So commercial airlines are probably out, but ....

You don’t know how ankle bracelets work if you think someone with one can get on a private plane and fly out of the country.

And you think there aren't "folks" who are "interested" in these guys who are laughing at you right now?

Do you think it will get to the kids? Also, he's 73-ish. I'm pretty sure that he can stay unconfined for his natural life using his team of lawyers for Trump Inc.

Now yes, if we can stop the entire robber baron thing, might be worth it. I just think it might do more harm to the country.

I think it will get to the kids. I think there's zero chance they don't know about the foreign money, and they absolutely are using their demented dad's position to line their pockets.

Pardon me if I think the FBI and the Department of Justice can handle these guys? They’re not the first monsters to cross their path.
