“Adopting” or finding “Donated” Embryos

Has anyone done this with success? What site or agency did you use? It seems like the demand is much much greater than the supply and I am getting pretty dismal.

Check out Nighlight Adoptions - they have an embryo adoption program - called something like snowflake adoption - it’s been up and running for years.

We donated our embryos through Nightlight and the adopting family had fraternal twins a month ago.

The twins are doing well. They are gaining weight and cute as a button.

Honestly, I cried when they were born. I'm sad about the separation between their family and ours. But it's an open adoption and I'm hopeful that we will be in each other's lives to some extent.

Overall, I'm glad that the twins are alive and that the adopting parents now have kids. But I'd be lying if I said that there wasn't a certain sadness, too.

theres a big facebook group where there are donor profiles-- search for embryo adoption support. there's also the national embryo donation center

A lot of clinics have programs. Like, Shady Grove has a program that I understand to have very little wait. (However, I think it's entirely anonymous donation.)

Shady Grove's program is very small and they told me that their "database is very, very low." As of a few weeks ago, they had 0 Caucasian embryos and 15 patients in the waitlist. And yes, their program is strictly anonymous.

Huh, a friend of mine got 3 shady grove embryos in a matter of a couple of months. This was in the last year .

PP ... thank you for sharing your experience. I think it is supremely brave and generous for you to have donated your embryos.

I wanted to donate our embryos. LOVE my kids. But recently I found they both have genetic issues that are significant. Perhaps why we had infertility in the first place. I see why the RE demands 100% anonymous.

OP here. I was at Shady Grove and they never, ever mentioned this to me. They only brought up donor egg, which I am not comfortable with. How do I find the program? I don't see it on their website?
