Caught neighbor's kid not cleaning up dog poop

Anonymous
I told the kid to come back with a bag but so far the kid has not come back (~an hour ago). The kid lives a few houses down but have never met the parents. I'm thinking of speaking to the parents before escalating further. Thoughts??

What would be escalating it further than speaking to the parents?

Call the police? You have no proof and it's the first time it's happened.

I don't understand this post. Are you thinking people will say "nah call the police before talking to the parents"? I swear some people on this forum can't have an individual thought and have to run everything by other people.

It is absolutely insane to me that people would call the cops on a kid before talking to the parents.

You certainly have a 'right' to do this. But the vast majority would not at this point.

Pick up the poop with a white or bright plastic bag. Fling the bagged poop in the neighbors front yard. They’ll get the hint.

Ok and?

You have 3 choices

1. Ignore it
2. Call the police
3. Talk to the parents.

I don't get what you're being so dramatic about

Unless you got a recording of some kind, this is not proof. He could change his story.

NP. Not offended, just a little sad for you that you need to crowd-source this.

FYI, to forestall another query, yes, you should push down the little solver lever on your toilet after you use it.
