| I believe in being a good neighbor and I pick up dog poop, but I also have to say, wrapping dog poop in plastic and putting it in a landfill is not a net environment positive. |
But you really want your tax dollars to pay for the poo police? That’s ridiculous. |
This would be my approach too. Life's too short to get worked up about such things. |
Yes, it would be better in the sewer and without the plastic. But the landfill is far better than where people live and could get sick. |
What is a better alternative in terms of the environment? |
Doggy poo bags are biodegradable. They're as good as gone in a pretty short time. |
I'd like to spray vinegar on some of my refuse-to-scoop-the-poop neighbors. |
Not all of them. |

+1 We let it slide a few times when our neighbor's dog pooped in our yard, and then eventually talked to our neighbor who apologized. We also added a section to our fence, so we don't need to depend on them being a good neighbor. |
haha. This, yes this!
|
| Nobody's kid picks up the poop unless they are threatened by their parents. This is normal. Tell the kid you'll pick it up once and don't ever do it again. Nuff said. |
|
The idea 1) that the kid should have the police called on him is insane as is 2) the idea that police (and hence public resources) should be called to avenge the OP about POOP. Perspective is very important. I know you are seething but the obvious thing is to talk to the parents or let it roll off your back.

Have to be honest....I would ignore and pick up the poop. If it happens a second time talk to the parents. Only as a complete last resort would I call the police. All that does is set up an issue between you and your neighbors. |
