If magruder is actually getting a new school they can suck it up and deal with Wootton for two years. Pretty decent trade.

Except Magruder isn’t even on CIP (step 2) nor is Wootton renovations (step 1).

If Magruder goes to Crown, it reduces at least one step.

How about this solution: put Wootton renovations on CIP, as well as Magruder.
Once Magruder rebuilt is done, put Horizon Hill, Fallsgrove, and Cold Spring back at Wootton.

Open Crown as a perm school with Fields Road, Rosemont, Rio, and Dufief in meantime.

Better yet: get the ES boundary study done. Once that’s complete and DuFief has been absorbed into Stone Mill, send the whole of Stone Mill and Travilah to Crown too to make way for Ritchie Park and Wayside at Wootton. Then we can finally abolish the concept of “North” Potomac altogether.

Stonemill doesn’t have space for Dufief as it hasn’t even counted the grove students. There are sudden influx of 90 new students this year alone.

DuFief can comfortably be split into Stone Mill, Fields Road and Travilah. And they can all go to the brand new school in their very same zip code that’s closer to them than Wootton Pkwy and make room for Ritchie Park and Wayside. No more crowding at RM, Churchill, QO, Gaithersburg or Wootton. Problem solved.

You’re delusional with wayside. If wayside was willing to join Wootton, we’d be already settled for one of the ABCD options.

I think the poster before this meant options 1-4, which were the ones that moved the entirety of Wayside to Wootton. Either way, in my view, those four options were designed to fail from day 1. Option two would have redistricted kids who could walk to QO from the Kentlands to Gaithersburg HS and sent walkers to Northwest from Matsunaga all the way to Poolesville. The rest of the options would have sent Cabin Branch 13 miles away to Poolesville for High School. The Wayside situation was the least of the concerns with those plans.

Travilah is in the same zip code as Crown, DuFief and Stone Mill. If Stone Mill and DuFief were sent to Crown Travilah would become a geographic island at Wootton. If you don't like the move to Crown how about QO? That's also in Travilah's zip code and it's actually the closest HS to Travilah ES.

So my children from the Fields Road cluster should start off for two years as a teeny tiny minority at "Magruder @ Crown", then two years later as the same teeny tiny minority at "Wootton @ Crown" and have no home school of their own? It's a completely ridiculous suggestion. You need to level and accept that when you fly signs stating "CROWN = HOLDING SCHOOL" you are NOT being equitable; you are advoacting AGAINST the interests of the local population for whom Crown was designed and by whom impact taxes were paid. Again, if that is what you want to do for your community. By all means, go ahead. But don't act as though this does not affect others. I believe most of us from FRES and Crown would prefer to stay at QO and/or GHS than to become a tiny minority for years on end in an indefinite holding school.

Wootton’s high performing cluster would remain intact, Magruder could use the school for renovations, that’s a pretty big incentive. It doesn’t make sense to prioritize Fields Road over that option. If you would prefer to stay at QO you could get a COSA. Whether you do or don’t, you would be better off than you are today. That’s clearly the best option overall.

Hand out bread and circuses much? It's about making their facility situation and current Wootton's (and current QO...and current GHS...and current Churchill...and) relatively equitable. To each other. Start from that.

This is demonstrably false. I just checked. The boundary between Travilah and Potomac ES is Travilah Road. The farthest south section of the Travilah district, which is the Canal Vista neighbourhood, which stands at:

- 6.6 mi from Quince Orchard
- 7.6 mi from Crown
- 8.1 mi from Wootton
- 9.7 mi from Churchill

Travilah should be QO <3 <3
