Even though he doesn't know this journalist at all, despite having his personal cell number in is phone. Because of course Waltz doesn't leak to the press. No sir. Not at all.

National security adviser Mike Waltz said Tuesday that he is taking “full responsibility” for the inclusion of a journalist in a group chat discussing war plans.

But first, he trashed The Atlantic editor who was included in the chat, denied any knowledge of how it happened and promised that Elon Musk would investigate along with other Trump administrators.

"What are you going to do about this leak of classified information, which likely indicates an entire common practice of insecure communication?"

"I'm going to hand it all over to an unvetted foreigner who is known to not understand how computer systems work, and who has an established track record of mishandling sensitive information"

I can’t decide whether to laugh or cry

Naming the group chat “Houthi pc small group” implies there was also a larger group chat

Guess it needs to be leaked.

The leak happened already, the journalist was the recipient of the leak. The information was shared on
non-DoD phones via an app explicitly banned for use by DoD. They are saying that nothing was classified, so he will just be sharing some texts between friends that he was sent.

Cool then why don't they post the entire text chain online? If none of it was classified information then bring the receipts and show everything that was in there....

You idiot, texts have been posted multiple times over but we can't help if you watch only Fox News and they aren't gonna post anything.

No, you are the f-ng idiot. the full text chain with sensitive/presumably classified information has not been shared. The reporter did not share it because it was too sensitive to share. If I am wrong then please post a link to the entire text chain including the part where they discussed the specifics of the military operations. I'll wait...

OK - so if you are responsible, then how will you be held accountable?

Waltz TOOK the responsibility. The responsibility is GONE. What don't you understand? Get over it!

MAGAs haven't "gotten over" losing the 2020 election or the Civil War and we are ALL still paying for it.

It was a huge mistake to not finish the job. Let this be a lesson if we have another.

The Atlantic just shared all of it (except the CIA person name) after everyone they asked yesterday said it wasn't classified publicly.

Wouldn’t a professional military operation have a code name (Vs being so transparent??)

Welp, since everyone said under oath that it wasn't classified...

But Hegseth, whose attack plan was being released over a commercial channel, went along with this communication/meeting method. HE put service members at risk.

HE was also one if the least serious in his response. HE should resign.

So it turns out Pete Hegseth lied. And Michael Waltz lied. And Tulsi Gabbard lied. And also lied to Congress while under oath. And John Ratliffe lied. And also lied to Congress while under oath.

And as ever Jeffrey Goldberg and the Atlantic were telling the truth.

This is why journalism matters.

But will there be ANY fallout?

All of them who did not report it and exit and shut it down should resign. It's a huge security violation. Even having a signal chat for govt work is a violation of 2 rules: federal records rule and OPSEC rules.

But Hegseth, whose attack plan was being released over a commercial channel, went along with this communication/meeting method. HE put service members at risk.

HE was also one if the least serious in his response. HE should resign.

Nope. Who is going to arrest them? Congress doesn't have its own enforcement ppl and it's all GOP anyway.

March 24 - revealed that too US officials discussed war plans through Signal, with emojis, and a journalist was in the chat.

I swear you could come up with something new every day. Then publish it and pass it out lime candy before next election.

+1. I thought the same thing today. Not to mention create a documentary.

The journal to make and publish is the one of all the things the Democrat congressmen and media are doing to keep talking about this Signal thing. When we all know Signal is the most secure communication system in the world because of course it is. The Democrats and media are giving aid and comfort to our enemies by talking about this, and soldiers and pilots will die.

What??? You have it SO backwards.

Thus is something REPUBLICANS hatched and carried out.

And all intelligence PROFESSIONALS know it is not as safe as communications emanating from a SCIF .
