And as for communicating, you are aware that not all Americans are glued to "X" right? In fact, most Americans still turn to official websites and national news outlets for information. As far as "fast" - it used to be that DoD had a requirement to get basic information out (via press release) an hour after a known Class A mishap.

Most people under 50 go on social media like Twitter for news and Twitter has been deemed official communication since the Obama era.

I was 12. There was a snowstorm that hit that day. The city was pretty much shutdown. We got stuck at school. Parents stuck coming home from work. None of the school buses could get through we had dinner from the school cafeteria in the pod watching the wheeled in TV. I remember kids crying. One had a parent on the 14th street bridge where plane impacted. I still have images of that rescue operation and think of it every day when I cross that bridge.

And any time the river freezes. My body holds that memory. I still remember seeing people in the water.

It’s a major issue because this is clearly a dangerous intersection and increasing traffic through it increases the risk of an accident. They should only be doing training flights through this corridor after DCA closes for the night, not during the busiest hour. Seems very likely they were there at this time because someone wanted to get home and so called a “protective detail” flight.

Eh, I’m atheist and I don’t mind a God Bless thrown in there. It’s fine. Your God, or anyone else’s God can bless me if you want.

But I’m not sure why Guantanamo Bay was included in this release. It should have been ( and mostly was) specific to the crash. Talk about Guantanamo Bay in a separate release

Because they announced the opening of Guantanamo Bay yesterday afternoon and that was supposed to be a grenade that triggers liberals today. Trump's MO is to issue a crazy executive order every day and this plane crash disrupts his plans.
