How many teams does your coach lead? Three!!!

Our coach has two RL teams, which are the highest teams in both age groups. Both teams seem to really have gotten the shaft with field space and practices as well as a lot fewer tournaments then when the previous coach was in charge.

It sounds like all the teams have crappy practice space. I don't understand why they are putting rec teams on turf when they don't have enough turf for their travel teams.

When my son's team practiced at Arrowbrook last year, the pickup players who our coach asked to move off the field would stand directly behind the goal and make fun of the players and shout obscenities.

Sounds like the club is taking advantage of an inexperienced coach to pay for fewer tournaments and not assign the usual amount of space.

So you want a full practice field Monday through Thursday because your team plays in RL?

It sounds like they expected half a field, which is what they had last year. Our RL teams (not Herndon) practice two teams to a field two nights a week, and get 1/3 the other night. I don't think that's crazy.

When my kids played rec, the rec teams only got turf if they would practice on Fridays. Fridays are the least popular night for practice, for lots of reasons.

No one ever wants the Friday time slots for practices. Especially 630-8 or 8-930.

Its definitely not a coincidence that every girls team practices exclusively at Bready, where the club admin have put effort into keeping the field safe and cleared of randoms.

1/2 or 1/3 a field is standard for high school age teams.

Every girls team and of course, the club admin's boys team!

Agree that this is standard for high schoolers. 25% of the field is standard for U-little teams.

My u19 has said the field is very sketchy and the other kids told him it’s unsafe. I thought he was exaggerating since I haven’t been there but now I know he is not.

We didn't know there were games this weekend or that our team had a tournament until midway last week! I don't even know if our coach knew.

Every practice is only a quarter field and it is NOT ENOUGH space. Arrowbrook situation is out of control and needs attention from the people in charge. There were people hitting a volleyball and people playing with tennis rackets in the middle of the field last week.

Neighborhood residents seem to consider this park their personal backyard and seem to have absolutely no clue that they aren't supposed to be out on the field when it is reserved. There is a side area right next to the field where literally hordes of teens and adult men play pickup soccer, shouting, cursing, their ball rolls onto the field every ten seconds. Whenever a team isn't using one of the main field goals for a few minutes, 10+ pickup players will swoop in and start kicking the ball around.

This is our team and I am underwhelmed. Nice of those parents to step in at the very last minute and help manage, but why would Herndon let a team not have a manager until two days before a tournament? I think the coach is completely clueless as well. I don't think he even knew his teams were in a tournament. We do not have any night with more than a quarter field, and all our practice fields are chaotic with pickup players and randoms.

Hutchison and Arrowbrook are both very unsafe. Too many sketchy people mixed in on the fields and hanging around.

When you ask about said promises, there’s no response or it’s never mentioned again. Practices are a complete joke, a lot of us parents stay around and watch practices to make sure the kids stay safe. There has been times where the coach (and parents) asked random “players” to get off the field and there was push back & mouthing off. The older kids have 1/4 to 1/2 of the field to practice on, but on game days play on regular sized fields and the coach wonders why some of the players are gassed out running. The end of this season can’t come fast enough! Never again Herndon!!!

Which teams get half a field!? My son is on the oldest, RL team--the highest level team--and they should have been assigned the most field space. We only have 25% of the field each practice. I was told they had half a field all last year and no one knows they now they only have a quarter.

*Correction* They get 1/2 the field for scrimmages against other players. This happens about once a week.
