Keeping a book with sexual content out of a school library is not the same thing as banning a book. You are more than welcome to buy it and give it to your child.

Serious question, why do you think it’s the job of the school to provide material to help a child explore their sexuality? How did that become something the school is responsible for?

You never took sex ed?

The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich is appropriate for 3rd graders? Lol. Do you know how many pages long it is? Show me an elementary school kid, even a middle school kid, who wants to read that book.

+1 And Jodi Picoult’s book about the Holocaust is one of the books that has been removed in Florida.

Who said it was appropriate for 3rd grade? Nobody.
The statement was that it is not in the Loudoun County Schools library catalogue. Last I checked, that includes HS.

How many people do you think have read it under the age of 40?

The implication is that the books being banned were in elementary schools because that is more sensationalizing to state that.

They're banning Toni Morrison.

They edited out that Rosa Parks' civil disobedience was against racism

This is the real deal. Republicans want to distract with silly nonsense about adult books that aren’t in any elementary school library and stuff lik Dr Seuss (since you all forgot: the family of/estate of Dr Seuss themselves decided it was time to change those books, that they no longer reflected how Dr Seuss would have written) but the point is that the fascists want to edit out actual history, get rid of any images and stories of LGBTQIA+ people and families just existing and any other multicultural or women’s history. They’re trying to erase all progress.

Why shouldn't it be provided to 3rd graders? Why do you support banning books to some children but not others?

No, the real issue is the extremism which is driving both parties further and further to the extremes which hurts everyone. Republicans want to ban everything they don't like and Democrats want to provide sexual material to children. Somehow public school systems worked fine for years without providing images of blow jobs to students. Democrats decided to label people who don't want to give pictures of blow jobs to kids (most parents) as fascist book banners and Republicans want to label gay people as groomers. Most sane people are tired of it.

Sure.

Democrats don't "ban books." They just have the publisher change words and phrases that may go against sensibilities.
We have to be inclusive!!!! And those "sensitivity readers" need a job!

So you are against publishers modifying their own properties according to their own opinions of market forces? I.e. capitalism?
