Rush for the Cup

Is something weird going on with Rush for the Cup?
I wouldn't expect full schedules at this point, but they no longer list the participating teams, or who applied.
Anyone know what's going on?

Too many competing tournaments and Rush is losing.

Does that mean you think it could be canceled?

My kid plays for Rush and no it isn’t going to be canceled. But I do think Pp is correct that there are competing tournaments, more each year. Everyone wants the shiny new object.

Serious and well-organized tournaments don't have these issues. Rush and these other small tournaments are struggling to attract competitive teams.

SRush for the Cup isn’t serious or well-organized? Please elaborate with specifics of why you think this is the case. I can take it back to the organization

Not PP but I’ll bite. DS played in this tournament a few years ago and a bunch of games were rained out. I thought Rush handled that well. DS is playing in it this year and the lack of communication is concerning and surprising. Accepted teams aren’t listed - that’s unusual. Brackets aren’t released less than 2 weeks out, and there’s also no indication of when they will be. Nor is there any indication of when schedules will be released. Age group coordinators aren’t listed on the website. What’s the check-in deadline? I don’t see that on the website either. Usually there’s a list of ‘important Dates’ that has all this info. It is frustrating to not have any idea of when I’ll get the schedule so that I can then plan the rest of my family life for Labor Day weekend. A number of the pages on the website still refer to 2018. Kinda seems like it is being slapped together.

Shame on you for wanting to have an actual life outside of your kid’s soccer schedule! . I do also wonder why the accepted teams aren’t listed tho.

Why does Rush run two different pre season tournaments on back to back weekends? They are competing with themselves and charging more than many other small tournaments. Is Rush a for profit organization?

who really wants to play in 3-4 hot preseason tournament games in 90 degree temperatures when the teams have barely had any consistent practices and players are back from summer vacations yet...

Most teams don’t do more than 1 preseason tournament so maybe rush offers 2 so that teams can choose which one works better for their schedules? Just a guess but really I have no idea haha. I do know of several teams in rush for the cup this year but surprisingly the info is not available online yet

rush for the meaningless cup

Teams that want to prepare for a competitive season.

Competing with obgc capital cup. Lower tiered teams play in rush for cup to get ready for the season.
