Rush for the Cup

BSC is thinning the heard....their players all clash and the injured are kicked to the curb. Leaves the rest of the clubs unharmed.

Oh. My. god. This is CHILDREN’s soccer, people. Get a grip. Like PP said, worry less about outcome and more about process. And don’t project your thoughts about all of this onto your kid. They are playing because it’s fun. And if not, then they’re playing for you and that’s all wrong.

Are you saying your kid doesn't care if he or she wins or loses? its just fun? Seriously?

Even 6-7 year old kids playing in Rec cares about winning. Even though no adult keeps track of the score in Rec, the kids keep track of the goals/scores themselves.

Winning might not be fun for them but I know loosing sucks for them.

Winning is fun.

That is correct. Kids like to win. Especially boys. If you don’t know that, well maybe you need to spend more time with your kid.

And if your son thinks winning games in preseason is as important as winning later in the year or later in life, maybe he needs to spend time with somebody else.

Every time you win, you're reborn; when you lose, you die a little.

We have two games arranged in Saturday morning, and I checked the filed schedule and there is no game on that field for any team in the afternoon.

I guess it is more to do with soccerplex. Is it a common practice?

Right. Keep drinking the tiger blood, Charlie. I bet you are a real winner.

All these kids will end up as drunks when they grow up. Move on.

The top teams in the area play up in these "pre-season" tournaments. Many times theyll play up at this age group to get the 11v11 experience before going to it full time. (and to prepare for their 11v11 spring tourneys). So there being a U11/U12 combined bracket isnt the end of the world.

The size differences arent all that crazy like people here are saying. (coming from someone that currently has a younger U14 player).

All that being said, size isnt the say all tell all determining factor of who will be better.

In the spring do all U12 teams start playing 11 vs 11 in their tournaments?

Losers never know why they are losing. They will mention injuries, the officiating, the weather and bad breaks.

No. The kids figure it out pretty quickly. It’s not really a big deal.
