I’ve been stalled at mid single digits for over a month. I’m getting antsy. Any guesses on how much it will move before school starts?

Assume you mean PK3 since that is the least likely to move much. But that info is needed.

OP, good luck to you. Our DS will be starting there this fall.

The school just had an open house for new families to see the school. The classrooms are HUGE, spacious, with large windows and lots of light. Plans for outdoor garden and garden classrooms. Families all seem nice and invested in their child’s education. Principal is great. Aftercare flexible with however many days you need and also reasonable.

We are excited to start this new journey and hope to see you there.

If you are looking for ses diversity though this isn't it. Every single family i have come across in our informal play dates and open house has either presented as umc "new brookland"

You will get in, I think. Waitlists plateau in July and then start moving in mid-August, sometimes pretty fast through the first few weeks of school.

fwiw playdates in general for other schools seem to be more populated by upper middle and middle class families, not necessarily representative of the full school community. as someone who has worked with several schools on inclusion initiatives, this is a hard nut to crack.

OP here still anxiously waiting. Anyone declining a pk3 spot this week?

I'm in the same boat for PK4, except I've moved a lot since the beginning of August. I last moved a week and a half ago. I've noticed that they are updating in groups though, so you probably won't see your spot move one by one, but jump down a bunch or go straight to offer. It makes the waiting even more anxious. I hope they start moving more quickly as it would be nice to get a spot before school starts.

We got into PK4 MV P st in mid-Sept last year form mid-teens.

No guarantees, but...don't give up! (And our kid had a tough few weeks of transition to new school / immersion, but loved it.)

Once school starts, many families are understandably reluctant to switch schools.

OP - we're in the same boat for PK3. This week, we've moved from #8 to #4 on the WL for one of our twins, so there's movement, but not quite fast enough...

Waitlist for PK4 still hasn't moved this week. Do we think it will before the end of the week?

More likely it will start moving once school starts and they see who shows up.

Agree, don’t count on it this week. I also wouldn’t count on many students not showing up either though but hopefully it will move a little for you. Good luck!

With 80 spots for pre-k 3 and 96 for pre-k 4, waitlists are definitely going to move in those first few weeks of school.
