Ukrainian victory over Russia is inevitable

Maybe they took some notes from the thunder run that Wagner did a few months back.

PUTIN HAS FAILED TO PROTECT RUSSIA.

Here is the first goal apparently of the "incursion"

I think Russia was operating under the illusion that NATO would never allow Ukraine to counter-invade. Well, surprise m#therf##kers. It looks like Ukraine has committed about 10,000 troops so far, including some very experienced brigades. It's clearly more than a hit and run operation. Russia may have to construct some hard defensive lines and effectively cede land to Ukrainian forces. The question is will Ukrainians capture the Kursk nuclear power plant. It would be a tit for tat situation since the Russians took over the Zaporizhizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine in 2022. In any event, Ukraine has certainly massively increased its leverage in recent days.

I sure hope Russia doesn’t erase Ukraine

Smart move by Ukraine - that gas depot is one of Russia's main pieces of leverage over Europe. Main chokepoint for gas to the southern half of continental Europe.

They hold and fortify this? They can get Putin to the negotiating table.

So let me get this straight. The gas depot supplies gas to the pipeline that goes through Ukraine and supplies gas to Ukraine's benefactors in Europe? So now Ukraine can cut off gas supplies to Europe and they couldn't before?

How? With nukes? If Russia uses nukes that will only show Putin to be a complete military, political and diplomatic failure.

Hmm. I don't know where they're going with this, unless it's just to as a morale booster for them, and a trust killer for Russians. Ukrainians cannot hope to hold any asset for long, because they do not have the manpower to secure a supply line from Ukraine. They can disable a power plant, and then leave the mess for Russians to sort through, while they rush back to Ukraine. It would still be a big blow to Russian vanity and sense of security.

Force Russia to divert resources from Ukraine, either softening them up to be pushed out of those locations or make it more appealing for Russia to stop its invasion and get out.

Even if they don’t hold territory, this will force Russia to put troops and defenses along the whole border so it can’t happen again. And every soldier on the border is one that is not in Ukraine.

There are other ways to get Russian gas to Europe but the metering station that Ukraine now controls is on the biggest pipeline there is.

This will accelerate the end of the war one way or another. From what's becoming available, Ukraine stripped the other fronts to make this happen. This is basically a modern Tet Offensive. They may be willing to suffer massive losses in an attempt to demoralize Russia. I don't think its going to work, but they don't have many other options.

I think it will work mostly because the global community is behind Ukraine and if Putin loses Trump this fall, then he is totally exposed domestically.
