| Yes but I can not more than I van count on two hands. My mom was a teacher and usually took away privileges/toys or used time out. Time put worked for my brother but not for me because I liked sitting quietly with my thoughts. Take away my comic books and journals is what got me to straighten up. am 49. |

39, European. A few times when I was little, I don't recall them at all, my parents told me. However I do recall my mother slapping me on the face when I was 16, and I slapped her right back, because I thought she was being extremely disrespectful (which she was, because she had and continues to have, no boundaries and untreated anxiety). She never slapped me again. Lesson learned - don't hit your kids when they get old enough to hit you back. |

| I'm 65, did get spanked, I only remember being spanked by my father, not often, but pretty sure as old as 15 or 16. Was told as an adult in therapy I was abused. I think my generation was the one that started deciding we weren't going to do that, and I think it had as much to do with our experiences as with societal messaging. I mean, spousal abuse didn't become a major topic until the late 70s, early 80s, which was also when DV shelters for women began to exist. |

| 40, yes. West Indian heritage. I remember being spanked around age 5, just on my hand. Didn’t bother me really, and I was very contrite. Don’t really remember it happening again until middle school—by then I think I was too old because I remember bring angry at the time. |
