Among teenage girls now, there is a much greater sense than when I grew up that no one has a right to ask them to dress in any particular way. There is much greater awareness about the sexism inherent in dress codes and a rejection of social norms that force them to do things to control their sexuality or their looks to be attractive. IME, girls today are simply dressing to make themselves comfortable and to amuse themselves. As a feminist, I support it. WTF cares if a girl is wearing a bra? If some third party thinks it's "distracting" then that 3rd party needs to get over themselves and get a grip on their thoughts.

I think so. I was at a local ice cream shop and noticed the teen girl was not wearing a bra. I am a woman. She definitely could have used one because her nipples were sticking out like crazy and she was bouncing all around in her shirt. Noticed all the old creepy guys looking too. Yuck. I felt bad for her like she needs a friend to tell her at least put on a cami with a shelf bra or something!

Its their choice I guess. Yes, their nipples will stick out and their boobs will bounce and men (and women and children) will watch it. Yes, some people will be disgusted, some will avert their eyes, some will stare to make them uncomfortable and many others will masturbate recalling it. Yes, they might get harrassed and some men will justify this "sluttiness" to molest or stalk them. All of these scenarios have one thing in common - free will!

Everyone is free to do what they want. I will never encourage my daughter or any other female that I care about to be so stupid.

I didn't wear a bra as a teen, and it is none of my business if teen girls don't wear bras. It is also none of my business what grown women wear and don't wear.
