| ECNLers really freaking out over this. Love it!! |
| The ecnl freak out if any is over tough competition for spots when the gda players that could take one, come to get it. And that is how it should be. |
So, what do you pick... a) Stay with your DA club and have a roster of 18 or less b) Take an offer from an ECNL club with a roster of 30 Pros and cons, people. |
ECNL could have consolidated talent in a controlled fashion. Instead they took their foot off the snake. Now they’ll have to hope consolidation happens by player choice which becomes a harder sell with every DA signing on to DPL or GAL. And if they fly under USYS’s flag think of the openness of State Cup, the infrastructure of the still not dead ODP and the huge number of USYS clubs. This is now far from over and is about to get very ugly. Again, pro/rel, less travel, HS and a potential for a true pyramid among 100’s of clubs and showcasing? Exactly what will ECNL have that is better again? |
| ^^ Exactly people forget ECNL is nothing more than a shiny league which can easily fall |
And as US soccer proved, no league is to big to fail. |
|
DA and DPL...both have the word Development in the name...The former DA club in my area has been recruiting at more of my daughters' games than some parents show up for
I would be embarrassed for the DA/DPL coaches that have to spend more time recruiting from other clubs |
Sounds like they are doing a part of their jobs. Which club? |
I think it is a bit delusional to think that all the top players are going to come over to the current ECNL clubs. If they do then some of the talent current ECNL players will defect to the new league. This is how it has always worked and how it will always work. |
Huh? Girls soccer is always about player choice. Where have you been? Girls soccer is pay to play from ecnl or gda on down. Only place where that is not true is at the funded MLS academies and they are only for boys. Sorry. |
I know - dilution, dilution, dilution - But the exDA are backed into a corner with their livelihoods (money grubbers or not) on the line, so I’d anticipate they’ll be very aggressive to keep what they can and grow where they can. And, the fact of the matter is, there are clubs out there they can add who can compete. Beach FC was mentioned in the ECNL discussion. In CCL play, their 02-08 girls have a combined 4 losses across 7 teams (out of like 70-80 games) and have more than held their own against ECNL teams. Win some, tie some, lose some - but always compete. There is no ECNL close by so they would become the ‘Elite’ option in their area, so they’d probably be willing to bite. |
What Part of coaching and developing are you talking about in youth soccer? Unless your a DA parent Club name doesn't matter as all their players are scrambling for new homes |
| I wish the best to the clubs that are in DPL, if that is the direction of the ex DA teams are going. Love that high school soccer is going to make out in this whole deal. It really is fun to watch and the atmosphere for the students is pretty cool. |

Wow, you sound desperate. Doesn’t look good on you. |
