You shouldn’t be messaging kids to go find new clubs. Clubs will find new leagues. No need to deliberately panic kids with Twitter DMs

Unfortunately ecnl clubs have made calls already. Apparently your news is old because DM’s from DA parents today have told us they were getting calls from ECNL clubs already to jump shift. You got to remember $ talks.

Only one "source" Glenn's.

Nothing on Danaher's twitter., the others reference Glenn. Or don't you check your BS before you open your pie hole?

Danaher had it up but pulled it down because ..

I’ve taken the tweet down because some creeps thought they could take that info and then send Twitter DMs to kids to jump ship. I’m looking at you
@ImCollegeSoccer
.

Isn’t Danaher ECNL too? That’s what it says on his Twitter page. So two ECNL guys tweeting the competition is finished is credible news?

His page says ECNL2, what is that

Maybe get the US teams of old, when they were doing decent in world cups.

Completely wrong answer. The girls are tanking and will continue that trajectory. ECNL girls games for years have been about physicality and speed. Watch the film. Something more is needed as the world catches up.

The men’s side will not be strengthened by disbanding its only elite league.

But in essence, the ECNL would be the only elite league. I am sure tryouts would be very interesting, especially in SOCAL, but in everywhere else too. I know if I was a coach of an ECNL team and DA disbanded, I would be pretty excited to see who arrives for tryouts. Competition becomes way tougher with the consolidation.

Yep the wide net US soccer want to throw just became a lot smaller.

I think the more likely result will be a lot of good parents and players walking away.

Think of the shitshow this generation has been through already, with more to come if this were to happen.

Enough.

MLS is bleeding money and will have their own league. They are not able to prop up the non MLS DA's anymore.

I just don’t understand why they would fold.

Wow
Cost – U.S. Soccer spends a around $9 Million on the DA’s per year, and gets little but grief for most of their investments. With an all new management team at the top of the Federation, and the very real likelihood of an 8-figure financial settlement on the way with the U.S. Women’s National Team, cutting bait now would remove a lot of distractions and sure up what may become much-needed cash in the coming years, before the expected windfalls of the 2026 World Cup.

the ECNL cabal is just awful. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Whether or not this is true, the drumbeat that continues just shows how ugly these people really are.

The roosters will continue to come home to hatch with deteriorating women’s international performances to match the awful men’s teams if ECNL wrests back control. No doubt in my mind.

What wrong with picking a big 12 year old and thinking they will be the a great soccer player at 22? You do not need skill just size and speed at u12. It’s always funny to go on these team soccer trips over to Europe. The US coaches show their stud players(girls and boys) who are quickly ignored by the European coaches for the kid who is an after thought. Man how much talent we as a nation throw away.

The MLS clubs are starting to act more like real clubs in terms of transfers and solidarity payments (about a year ago getting into the solidarity payment business). They don’t want US players jumping from a non-MLS DA club to Europe and not getting anything out of it, or potentially having to take a cut on a transfer fee to make a solidarity payment (e.g. the Yedlin Crossfire issue). Bottom line, they want as big a cut as possible on any pros coming out of the US.

Emotional post.

You are placing your bet on a corrupt US Soccer Federation with no track record of success.

They are THE US SOCCER FEDERATION and THEY cant even run a proper youth league.

This has NOTHING to do with the ECNL. The ECNL didn't take down USSDA. THE USSF took down USSDA.

EVEN if the rumor aren't true, the BDA will be second tier to MLS DA (If that even continues) and GDA will be second tier to ECNL is every place in America but SOCAL.

Put the blame where the blame should be placed. Step 1

Heeeheeee...don’t think there’s too much threat of all of this American talent from non-DA or DA heading to Europe. Very very tiny teeny tiny #s.

We destroy the kids with talent very quickly before they are 14.

^ it’s more we don’t select for talent. The US club/DA parameters for picking players is awful. They pretty much pick the opposite of what foreign coaches look for in a player.
