Matt Danaher @mattdanaher · 1h Replying to @ImCollegeSoccer @ussoccer_da and @theECNL You shouldn’t be messaging kids to go find new clubs. Clubs will find new leagues. No need to deliberately panic kids with Twitter DMs 1 8 College Soccer Truth ™ @ImCollegeSoccer · 1h Unfortunately ecnl clubs have made calls already. Apparently your news is old because DM’s from DA parents today have told us they were getting calls from ECNL clubs already to jump shift. You got to remember $ talks. 2 2 |
Yes. Its seems like its the fire coming out of one ECNL staffers arse. |
I guess your kid didn’t get a call. Burn, sorry. |
Only one "source" Glenn's. Nothing on Danaher's twitter., the others reference Glenn. Or don't you check your BS before you open your pie hole? |
lmao. you are a joke |
Danaher had it up but pulled it down because .. Matt Danaher @mattdanaher · 1h I’ve taken the tweet down because some creeps thought they could take that info and then send Twitter DMs to kids to jump ship. I’m looking at you @ImCollegeSoccer . |

If this is true, this coupled with the coronavirus mess will ensure that many parents and kids pull out of the sport and the shitshow that it has become entirely.
It’s really no wonder the US is a soccer backwater and always will be. It has been on the boys side for years, and the day is fast approaching on the girls side, and accelerating if this rumor has any merit. |
| Well we will find out tomorrow. I wonder if they have a plan for something new? |
Isn’t Danaher ECNL too? That’s what it says on his Twitter page. So two ECNL guys tweeting the competition is finished is credible news? |
| Totally fake news. |
| If this was true, the Girls side would be strong as it would be back to normal and the Boys side....Well, I don’t know, maybe they become stronger as well because they will not only have ECNL only as the top league, but they can also play high school, which would become very relevant. Maybe get the US teams of old, when they were doing decent in world cups. |
Completely wrong answer. The girls are tanking and will continue that trajectory. ECNL girls games for years have been about physicality and speed. Watch the film. Something more is needed as the world catches up. The men’s side will not be strengthened by disbanding its only elite league. |
But in essence, the ECNL would be the only elite league. I am sure tryouts would be very interesting, especially in SOCAL, but in everywhere else too. I know if I was a coach of an ECNL team and DA disbanded, I would be pretty excited to see who arrives for tryouts. Competition becomes way tougher with the consolidation. |
I heard it from a few different places but it’s a rumor. We will find out tomorrow. If it is true I guess the “super team” model will come back. Three team for the dMV area. A lot less chairs when the music stops for players. Many good players will not have options but hey this is what everyone was yelling for... |
| On the Men’s side, If you were that good, you would be drafted from the ECNL to one of the minor league soccer teams. From there, you would further develop until you get the call to the 1st team. For example, ECNL to Loudoun United, to DC United. |
