Is this post for real or is it a parody? |
Alternative Math. New projections are that there will be 200,000 deaths from COVID in the US by October. That means 200,000/350 million or 1 in 2000 Americans will die over a 6 month span So about 1/1000 risk over a year So a micromort is a unit of risk. One micromort is a one in a million chance of death. So by living in the US on average there is a 1000 micromort risk a year or a 3 micromort a day risk of dying of COVID. YMMV |
We will take your opinion under advisement. |
It's real. One or two posters have been posting like this for months. They've made their own bad predictions, but we are supposed to ignore that. |

So frustrating. Think we will see countries letting Americans in or not based on state of residence? |
| 27,000 new cases. |
| It really does look like the US has just given up, especially in comparison to Europe. |
We are much lazier and feel more entitled so... |
I'd say that the UK is not doing any better than the US. It is interesting that the countries having the most deaths per capita recently all have authoritarian or authoritarian-leaning leaders US, Brazil, Russia, India, UK |
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2020/06/19/countries-keeping-coronavirus-bay-experts-watch-us-case-numbers-with-alarm/ Success in Germany was based on U.S. research that was ignored or dismissed by the U.S. government. Thanks Trump. Thanks 'ignore science" GOP zealots. Understand, our economy would be relatively fine with any modicum of competent leadership. It's, I don't know, almost like Trump is TRYING to destroy our country. |
I'll bet you wouldn't be so brave if you had to repeat these words to a crowd of those who have lost loved ones to covid over the past four months. Shame on you. |
Nobody is more compassionate than the wise, saintly PP. He even thinks of the children! |
