I put a lot of the blame on Congresswoman Wilson because she actually started the entire scandal.

Uh, the scandal started when Trump went off on a tangent, disparaging his predecessors and how they responded to servicemen killed in action, and then scrambled to do something to show he actually cared about the 4 men killed in Niger and then bungled the call to the widow of Sgt. Johnson. All that happened before Wilson spoke up.

No. He didn't disparage them. Listen to the video of the answer he gave. The media spun it into disparagement.

No, that's wrong. The Gold star widow and mother of La David Johnson said they felt disparaged. The media reported it. That's their job. If you want to listen only to Trump's spin rather than the family of the dead soldier, that's your decision.

As countless others can attest, believe Trump's words at your own peril.

Not sure what all the fuss is about when there are about 100 things this moron is doing that we should be fussing over. Also, that congresswoman is a raging lunatic. And I never knew the proper pronunciation of Niger until now.

What makes the congresswoman a raging lunatic?

I've watched a couple of interviews with her and she's borderline incoherent. I can't believe she's a US Congresswoman....it's just embarrassing. And I can't believe she would choose to share and politicize a private conversation in a moment of grief that she happened to overhear......to me that's the height of crassness. Lastly. the nutty outfits don't exactly scream professionalism to me but that's my personal bias.

Feelings are not fact, especially when it comes to a grieving widow

I agree with you.
Does anyone seriously believe that President Trump called the family with the intent of insulting or disrespecting them?
If Congresswoman was a decent person, she would have consoled Myeshia by telling her that the president meant no harm and just wanted her to know how much his service to his country was appreciated.
But, instead, she saw an opportunity and pounced on it. Couldn’t wait to go to the press.
And, not sure how you know the proper pronunciation of Niger. I have heard it pronounced about 10 different ways by the media/politicians.

I always assumed it was Nigh-jer but it seems as though the consensus is Nee-jeer.

Feelings are the only fact when it comes to a gold-star family

Or when it comes to an opportunistic, bottom-feeding congresswoman

Who's is speaking for the Widow.

And the widow has now come out publicly. Are you going to disparage her too?

Why is it ok for Trump to be oppurtunistic, but not ok for the congresswoman?

Trump is the worst of bottom feeders.

The widow came out and spoke for herself and corroborates what the congresswoman said. Trump blew it with her.

And you don't think Trump acts crazy and incoherent?? You're not embarrassed by him, even just a little?

Look, honestly when this first came out I felt a bit bad for him. He wasn't elected to be the consoler-in-chief, he was elected to be the tough negotiator on trade and immigration. Displaying empathy is not his strong suit, and he has a hard time reading the scripts that are prepared for him sometimes.. He was likely nervous and it's no doubt a hard call to make. I don't think he was trying to be disrespectful. And maybe the congresswoman did have political motivation- she is close to the family, however. But anyway- if you hear the widow was hurt by your comments, you call and apologize and make things right, not get crazy defensive and lash out on twitter. Who the hell cares if he was "right" or the congresswoman is a loony bin or whatever. He's the goddamn president and I wish he'd start acting like it every now and then.

Can you imagine if Obama attacked a veteran's widow in twitter? He's have been impeached.

Why is it NOT okay with you for Trump to be opportunistic, but okay for the Congresswoman?

I'm not lambasting either person for being oppurtunistic, just questioning an inconsistency.

Of course Trump doesn't act crazy and incoherent. That's just a bunch of partisan covfefe.

Trump has been proven a liar again and again and again and again. Why should anyone take his word over someone else's? Seriously, why?
