Sure it is.

Kelly is not to be questioned, despite video evidence of his lies.

Now the Gold Star widow is being questioned and attacked, even on this forum.

So not only is the implication there, but the facts bear it out.

She was speaking about Kelly in regard to his position as a 4-star General. Nothing about being a Gold Star parent. Sorry your narrative fails.

A) Four-star generals can be questioned in this country
B) John Kelly is no longer a four-star general. He's the President's Chief of Staff, which is a political position.

And also a white Gold Star family member.

The part of Niger that they were in is not controlled by the Zerma Tribe who runs the country, it's controlled by the Hausa and Tuareg Tribes. The government has little control there. How any mission in that part of the country could be considered ""low risk" is unbelievable, especially since, as we now know, the village elder did his best to delay their departure.

Where did you hear it was “low risk?” That is not what I heard. I heard they did not expect any resistance, but that the region is inherently dangerous.

I heard low risk on one of the three networks which I tape each evening. I don't recall which one. But let's just say that you're right. We now know more about their mission. They were part of a larger group that were on their way back to base when they were given a second mission. There was reliable intelligence that a high value ISIS target was in Tongo Tongo and they were to capture or kill him. They were going on that kind of mission and thought that there was very little chance of resistance?

Fascinating. "networks"? "tape"? You should do an AMA.

No, a general is always a general. Generals don't retire in the same way other officers do. They retain their rank and can be called back at any time.

Not sure what all the fuss is about when there are about 100 things this moron is doing that we should be fussing over. Also, that congresswoman is a raging lunatic. And I never knew the proper pronunciation of Niger until now.

What makes the congresswoman a raging lunatic?

I've watched a couple of interviews with her and she's borderline incoherent. I can't believe she's a US Congresswoman....it's just embarrassing. And I can't believe she would choose to share and politicize a private conversation in a moment of grief that she happened to overhear......to me that's the height of crassness. Lastly. the nutty outfits don't exactly scream professionalism to me but that's my personal bias.

Both Trump and Wilson have acted shamefully by politicizing this. I'm not sure what to think about Wilson's coherence. Lately she has sounded incoherent, but she spoke well in her FBI speech.

Any retiree with 20 years in can be recalled at any time, not just generals. But DOD Directive 1352.1 - Management and Mobilization of Regular and Reserve Retired Military Members, makes recall ?to active duty unlikely for Kelly, who is 67. And regardless, it is acceptable for the press to question those in authority whether they are active generals, retired generals, chiefs of staff and/or gold star fathers.

Another widow of one of the fallen soldiers in Niger shared her experience with President Trump’s call to her.

Michelle Black said when it comes to the ongoing investigation into her husband’s death, the military is giving her guidance, but she’s not watching the news or following the day-to-day details. Someday, she said, she’ll need answers. But it won’t bring Bryan back.

She also said she was very aware of the controversy surrounding President Trump and his conversation with another Gold Star wife, whose husband was also killed in Niger. But she said her experience with the president was different.

“I’m very grateful that he called and he spoke to the kids. And I think that the excitement from that made it a little better, even if it was just for a minute,” she said. “So, yeah he was very gracious and I appreciate anyone who calls cause, like I said, that takes quite a bit of bravery to call into that kind of situation.”

Today Trump said he absolutely called La David Johnson by name, that he has a chart with his name on it in front of him when he called. But I swear it sounded like he said Le David, not La David. I walked in while the clip was playing. If you saw Trump speaking ad lib today, was that what Trump said and how does the sergeant’s family pronounce his name?

Someone needs to set him up as a dummy and let a ventriloquist take over the controls. Or get impersonators to fill in for him any time he needs to speak.

It actually stops with him cause he's the Prez. Isn't that what you said about Benghazi? Or did it stop at HRC that time?
