So the homeowner, L Burks, who is Rhodes mother, apparently did not play by the rules-she did not apply for a permit, pay the usage/rental fee and had abouyt 110 more people than is allowed according to these HOA rules-but I( guess they can argue that these rules are racist and perhaps they will get out of having to suffer the consequences of their actions!

Let's assume that everything you say is true. What are the normal consequences for such rule violations? You get your pool pass taken away for the summer? I assume that you realize that had not one cop lost control of himself, this would have been a non-incident? Short of that cop's behavior, the crowd would have been dispersed peacefully, no videos would have been circulated, and nobody would have been put on administrative leave or lost their jobs. You can try to shift blame as much as you want, but this entire incident is the result of one cop getting out of control.

I disagree. They were dispersing peacefully. How obtuse can you be to suggest that the "inappropriate" action of the police officer was to order them to leave? Had the one officer acted like the other 11 officers, we would have never heard about this.

I disagree. They were dispersing peacefully. How obtuse can you be to suggest that the "inappropriate" action of the police officer was to order them to leave? Had the one officer acted like the other 11 officers, we would have never heard about this.

I guess you can say it was "peaceful"-the girl who was "brutally attacked" by the officer is seen leaving and then coming back several times and mouthing off to the officer-I guess I have a different idea of peacefully dipersing-that would be walking away quitetly the second I was told to leave.

Not a expert in criminal law in TX but trespassing is a Class A/B/C misdemeanor. The worst being <$4000 fine and up to 1 year in jail, the lesser being up to a $500 fine.

I am not sure if the "whole incident" is because a cop got out of control, the "whole incident" was a badly planned party, kids probably would have been arrested for trespassing if there was no video but all the kids were let go because of the video. The kids should probably thank the police officer for getting out of control, because the department had to "clean it up" by letting the kids go.

Okay, but just to be clear, do you have personal experience of police breaking up a teenage party and then tackling the kids "for running away" after they had been told to leave and were, in fact, leaving?
