Potomac woke up in the 2nd half, especially in the 4th quarter. SJC had their starters in the entire game.

Probably helped the HC was not there to berate players & refs

Is that true?

it's true - SR head coach decided she didn't want to make the trip down

However, terrible human.

She’s a great coach, they won anyway.

She coaches hard, what is wrong with that? You obviously never played a sport.

The girls at SR love and respect her.

My daughter went there, started every year, plays division 1 and starts for a male coordinator - and hates her. She’s lazy, disorganized, and yells to overcome her crappy preparation (like forgetting GC runs zone, not practicing against a zone, and then yelling at them to run some zone offense she installed during her first time out). She consistently skipped practices and was late for games, showing up minutes before they started. No one whose daughter played for her is surprised that she would skip a game in Charlottesville.

I don't know anything about the SR coach, but wasn't the GC game just a scrimmage? Who cares?

GC has run a zone for years and every year she forgets they run a zone.

Not my favorite guy in the lacrosse scene in town, but you can bet that the GC coach knows exactly what SR runs. Are you folks serious that the SR coach doesn't break down film and work it with the team all week before a big game? Amazing success for the program and speaks to the talent and character of the girls if we are really in a no prep, yell-first environment. Crazy.

My DD is debating between GC and SJC. What are the issues with the GC coach?

I'm familiar with both. Go to GC.

Compare the commits from recent years and then make your decision.

After reviewing recent commits for those schools, the key point is she should prioritize playing M&D, Hero's, or Capital.

*playing FOR M&D, Hero's, or Capital

Easier said than done.

If your good enough, especially for hero’s and mnd they’ll take you

Don’t choose a school just based off of lacrosse. GC and SJC are the 2 coed catholic high schools in the area. Really similar in academics. Both have good lax programs but find out what your DD vibes with the best. Do the shadow days and talk with the coaches. Just different vibes for the schools one in more suburbia Olney and the other right over the line in DC that has more of that city feel.

They didn't have key starters in for last 4 goals. Good fight from Potomac though.

Yes, that is what I meant. You have to be very very good to get on Hero’s, Capital or M&D.

Plenty of kids on these club teams play for GC too. SJC stats notably higher. Why is that?

SJC has a significantly higher number of commits to high academics despite having a comparable number of players on the area’s top club teams.

Potomac went 1-2 against some strong competition. Lost to St. Andrews by 1; beat Vero Beach; lost to William Penn from Philly.

The st Andrews game was a great game and seemed very even. Lost in the second overtime, which was sudden death. St Andrews draw specialist was hard to beat

Why? That sounds like super dumb coaching if it’s true.

Not a Cap parent but their recruiting record is pretty solid and yeah, it is tough making those teams.

Potomac lost 90% of their offense. No one thought they would be good this year. They’ll come in fourth maybe fifth in the ISL this year.

Duke recruit still out. They will be no worse than 4th by end of Playoffs.

Holy Child could beat them. SSSAS, Visi and Stone Ridge will all run Potomac over.

Duke commit played over Springbreak but not the SJC game?

Still out or came out? Those mean different things if I’m trying to think about what comes next.
