Anyone get telework approved at SEC?

If there's no ad hoc I would set up a new schedule without TW. No point in agreeing to TW if it is only for the benefit of the agency.

Corp fin doesn’t allow telework anyways so this would just be confirming our policy.

+100. I am at a different FinReg but I no longer telework for any reason. I do a strict 9-5:30 then no more.

I guess that’s just something else that the PP’s hero “didn’t want to start a fight over.”

Well, if some rando on Reddit says it, it must be true.

If people are that upset about potentially losing ad hoc telework, there must have been a whole lot of “ad hoc” telework going on.

Some offices are very lax.

I don’t believe the Reddit rumor, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the SEC instituted a new ad hoc telework policy that only allows ad hoc telework to earn credit hours beyond your official work hours.

If they take away ad hoc, I don’t know how long I can mentally take the torture. Just knowing they are layering on cruelty will make it hard to function.

What is the OBSESSION with telework (not allowing it)???? Cruelty doesn’t explain it — there many other, better ways to make people miserable and boost departures, if that’s the objective.

This weird fetish with stopping telework is getting to the point of a psychological disorder. I suspect something else is going on. It’s totally random. The damn thing has been around for DECADES, and now, out of the blue, everyone suddenly has a hair up their butt about it?

Maybe. If even that were forbidden, it would create real problems.

I not infrequently have briefs due and need to work extra hours, but I cannot stay at the office until all hours because of kids. If I wasn’t able to log in once they are asleep, it’s not clear how the work would get done.

Hey, if management wants me to take a sick day every time my IBS flares instead of getting something useful done between trips to the can, who am I to get pissy over it?

People need to just stop working and let them feel the consequences of their stupidity.

Maybe they just want women to quit. If they can just give me my salary each year without me workng, I would be ok with that.

it is a pain to not have telework. but have to work to save up for kids college so not worth fussing over this until union settles this. leadership who do the same type of work has not been cruel. i think it is just office management that is making this difficult or is trying to protect the agency as a whole, but nothing has been said by office mgmt so it is conjecture.

my suspicion is that ... that is actually the goal. i think the problem is folks are still being too effective and things won't start cascading failures until people--especially people with already increased workloads due to the fork and contracts being cut-- are forced to take a weeks leave due to covid, or full day leave for a dr appointment.
