Feeling sad for Britney Spears

She's been in conservatorship (read: adult guardianship) under her father since 2008. She's 37 now, her dad is not doing well, and it seems she's had another mental break because of that.

I think its all the tanning she does/did. Her skin is rough and her face is weird because of surgeries. Basically she's going the Pamela Anderson route.

She’s been “missing” since Jan and had canceled her Vegas show. There had been rampant speculation about a mental break for awhile now. Sad to see it confirmed.

I feel bad for her, too. She seems like a good heart (not the brightest, but it is what it is) and too fragile to be where she is. Thought she had a boyfriend that was pretty supportive?

I've met her several times through a mutual friend. She's really sweet just kind of naive to how the whole world works. She's the type of person who would get easily scammed because her good nature would have her believe anything. And she's been manipulated by.people.left and right since an early age.

I wouldn't want her life. I feel bad for her, you can't be a normal person and that's what leads to the mental breaks

+1. The whole reason she is in a conservatorship to begin with is because of Alli Sims, her former assistant and pseudo cousin. I forget the name of the guy Britney was with, but him and Alli basically drugged Britney during that entire downward spiral. Hence why Father stepped in through the courts after the mental breakdown. Her family had been trying to get her help but Alli kept everyone away from Britney.

She's 38. At a certain point you need to haul your bloomers up and be an adult. Other people can't always be the adult for you.

When Andy Cohen wrote about her, he said she was "sweet and simple" and that phrase always comes back to me every time I see her face or name. Seems like such an accurate description.

How do you not get that she can’t? What about mental break down don’t you get?

She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She has a chronic episodic mental illness. This isn't about not learning to adult or not being strong enough or not being very bright.

It isn't uncommon for high stress / low sleep to trigger episodes at all.
