Justin has been in movies, is married with a kid, and is on a super successful tour.

By all accounts, he's fine.

Justin was in a group. The ones in groups so a little better. NKOTB, NSYNC, BSB, Destiny's Child, a lot of the groups fared better on average. Look at Nick Carter vs Aaron Carter. Groups make you part of something, not all on your own as a kid.

Justin ALSO had good parents that didn't try to steal from him. Most of these kids are not so lucky. But Lynn Timberlake is widely thought to be a good mom who never tried to leech off of him.

So why isn't Lynn in the picture and able to serve as Britney's conservator?

Because Justin and Britney never married and Lynn has nothing to do with her???

Also, for the record, I think Justin wasn't that great a guy in all that went down with Britney Spears over the years. I don't want to contribute to a thread about her turning into something celebrating him. He used her to jumpstart his own fame and watched her go down in flames.

Didn't she cheat on him and then he broke up with her?

He never talks about her unless he needs a PR boost. His breakout song publicly humiliated her and started her spiral.

He has a history of playing a part in the destruction of more famous women's reputations to accelerate his career indiscriminately. See also: Janet Jackson

Ive loved her instagram recently. You can tell she uploads (weird) videos herself and doesnt care what people think. She doesnt have someone posting for her, which I think is cool

They don’t. Maybe he has colon cancer. A perforated colon is bad enough as you end up in the hospital for an extended amount of time, but if you add colon cancer to that that’s a whole new level of stress. I hope that he doesn’t have that.

Ohh. Justin's mother ran his business. Britney's mother had nothing to do with the business and was a SAHM. Her father was able to establish conservatorship not only because he was legal guardian but also because he'd spent her entire career (20 years) as her manager. I don't think Lynn has the experience to handle a multi-million dollar empire of lawyers, accountants, assistant managers, sales, revenue, and tour portfolio which is what Britney needs so she doesn't spiral. Brit-Brit basically lives in her country mansion, gets an extreme allowance, and goes to the gym all day while her dad was running the operations.

Also Lynn and Jamie (Britney's father) are not on good terms and Britney is a daddy's girl.

There was a documentary released a few years ago (?? not sure exactly when) that really made me see how broken of a person she is. I remember this one scene where they were supposed to go to a store to shop, but the amount of paparazzi outside had her security team deem it unsafe, and they had to turn around to go home. She got so quiet and sad, and said something about not even being able to just go shopping like a regular person. It made me think that living most of your life - and all of your adult life - that way just cannot be healthy. That's why I totally agree with PPs saying that these child stars tend to have a breakdown at some point because they're spending their formative years in some bizarre reality.

Uhh, he did. He also made her the most famous young woman in history.

Britney's breakd down didn't happen until she was an adult and out of his care + hooking up with horrible men like her back-up dancer Kevin Federline.

As I recall the first hospitalization that went public happened when she got mad that she was loosing custody of her kids and shaved her head all in one go one night. She was in her mid-twenties.
