Feeling sad for Britney Spears

Ive loved her instagram recently. You can tell she uploads (weird) videos herself and doesnt care what people think. She doesnt have someone posting for her, which I think is cool

You realize celebrity photos on IG are carefully cherry-picked and photoshopped, right?

DP. Not Britney. If you worked in media, you'd be able to see the difference between say...Ariane Grande and Beyonce's posts vs Britney's.

Most celebrities are trying to garner mystique with amazing vacations, fantastic purchases, and awesome experiences. Britney's is just her showing off the mini-skirt she's wearing for day night with a guy no one knows.

It's not curated to build her celebrity profile - mainly because she doesn't need it to be. (Not saying she doesn't photoshop, just that her team isn't setting a video shoot in her home for her to post with).

My dad’s illness and death gutted me and I didn’t have pre-existing mental/bipolar issues. I was very close to him and talked daily, saw him frequently.

My heart goes out to her. Since he was there for her during that awful time and had been a rock in her life, this is literally killing her.

For most, no one will love you in this world like your parents will, it's hard losing that.

Watching 48 year old women scrabble to try and piece together the Britney Spears story is hilarious. You guys are just so out of the loop on literally everything.

What a weird comment.

Hi, Britney!

It isn't uncommon for high stress / low sleep to trigger episodes at all.

+1 and her dad's mom had mental health issues

Her grandmother shot herself in her early 30's over the grave of one of her children.

She posted a video saying she's not being held against her will.

Of course not. Supposedly she checked herself in voluntarily. And that's a very good sign.

Either they flame/burn out or if they keep going - drug addicts, abusive relationships, or mental illness.

Britney seemed to have it all together. Stellar career and body but I guess her cross to bear is mental illness.

I feel like Natalie Portman is an exception to this, no?

I think Portman was able to have a somewhat normal life. I remember hearing how she was very careful to not sexualize herself at a young age, vs. Britney who was singing songs about sex and dancing half naked at age 16. Portman also went to college, so her youth was a bit more normal than many celebrities.

He’s supposed to be an excellent father. My BFF taught his boys with Britney at a private school in the valley. She said he’s very attentive and good with them.

I've heard this too. I also think the fact Spears' family didn't even try to wrestle the kids from him early on suggests they thought he was a decent father.

Just pretend she’s black and I’m sure your sympathy for this cheap southern hick will dry up. She had an affair with a gigolo and broke up his family, leaving three small children caught in the middle. Then he turned out to be the stable one and she was a batshit insane absentee mother still prancing on stages like a hooker at damn near 40 instead of spending time with her kids. She does drugs, has frequent breakdowns, and can’t be trusted with control over her own life. But she’s white, so boo hoo Britney. Meanwhile, Beyonce, a black woman who has never had a scandal, is getting called all kinds of names in a 20-page thread over...song lyrics.
