I’d happily boycott TLC but it would be an empty gesture for me. I’ve thought they and their shows have been trash since forever, so I don’t watch. |
| I don't understand how Jill and Derick make money. |
I'm not the PP but for example, the Catholic church has been in the news for years for shielding pedophiles. |

Look at their faces. Who does not think that there was some serious girl abuse going on in that household? I just don't think that Josh is the sick pervert. He is grinning because he has something over daddy-o.
Duggar's emphasis was never on looking after the kids (the older girls were playing nanny) but basically fuxing like bunnies. |
You do not actually have to do the deed that often if you are fertile and not using any birth control. Much to my husband's dismay, I got pregnant on the first try with each of my (three) children. |
Sadly, yes. She is making a point. And I say this as a minister. Organized religion often brings the most vile people into their flocks. Promises of absolution, forgiveness, grace, etc..... attract fuked up people. That’s why we have so many priests who are predators. It was their way of trying to suppress sick urges. It never works. |
Aren’t there just as many secular people who are depraved sickos too? Epstein comes to mind but so many others. |
I found this video really interesting. There was something obviously unusual in her speech: How she was speaking and her unusual facial expressions; A disconnect of sorts. But then when I watched it with no sound I saw that her fleeting expressions look like anger (especially when frame is frozen. She is making a face in several moments with her eyes and furrowed forehead like "Are you fu@#king kidding me?"). She was angry, of course, but her upbringing does not allow it so you get this tentative, pseudo passive voice with a face that is expressing much pain and anger. What a terrible and deeply unhealthy way to live. I hope she can find a way out...that would be a real miracle. |
It was my understanding that they already lived in a renovated building behind the main house. The difference now is that Josh cannot live there with them. |
| If you read some of the recaps of the zoom hearing it will turn your stomach. The hearing was not to be "memorialized" (the court's word) so there isn't a word for word recap but there is the statement that the lead investigator (who has been doing this for 11 years) said this case was in the top 5 in terms of how graphic and horrific the downloads were. Sickening. |
Fascinating analysis! You should write a paper about this. Also, have you considered going into linguistics? This is great stuff. |
Yes, she is in a cult but people do leave. There are many people who can and do find a way out. She however, has deficits that make that harder. She is willfully remaining ignorant. She chooses not to learn and whether we call it "stubborness" or poor reality testing or a weak ego that would crumble if she faced the truth, she isimited and it is profoundly sad. I feel rage toward her, I really do and I'm sure I am not the only one. She is doing the least courageous thing by staying. She is like one of those mothers of incest survivors who do not believe the child but will side with the psychopathic spouse because they are desperate for the connection and cannot bear being alone. They do not have the core psychological maturity and ego strength you see in a healthy person. She is sick in her own way too. |
Thank you. |
Whenever someone says this, with regards to any family situation, you know it really means: "someone decided the the way to frame things, and we didn't have the power/agency to suggest otherwise." |
Me too. I used to watch the original show for the snark, but stopped way back when the first Josh scandal came out. And I can’t remember the last other thing I watched on TLC - maybe What Not To Wear? That was great back in the day. Now all they do is exploit freaks. |
