I doubt she put that software on. Even if she did, Josh's childhood friend said he had those crappy software apps on his computers and was able to get around them no issue.

Anna knew he had 1)a problem with porn 2) had molested children/committed incest 3) a failed courtship because this came to light 4) other people in their community constantly keeping their kids away from Josh because they thought he was a predator.

I defend her because I understand what it’s like to grow up in a fundamentalist church and where she is in and grew up in is 10 times worse than what I grew up in.  This is not your regular variety Christianity or even strict Christianity. What she is in, grew up in, and is surrounded by, is a cult and cult members. As a society we throw the term brainwashed around but that is exactly what she is in the legitimate meaning. She is in a cult and when you start reading up on what it takes to a) understand you’re in a cult  and 2) leave a cult are two enormous mental and spiritual hurdles that she has to jump through.

We know that she’s wrong, we know that she can leave but that would require her questioning the entire foundation of who she is and what she has grown up in, the literal spiritual lives of her and her children. She doesn’t have a support system that can enable her to leave. She depends wholy on Josh. This is why I defend her and I pray that people step up in her life to help her leave the marriage, if not the cult. [/quote]

Yes, she is in a cult but people do leave. There are many people who can and do find a way out. She however, has deficits that make that harder. She is willfully remaining ignorant. She chooses not to learn and whether we call it "stubborness" or poor reality testing or a weak ego that would crumble if she faced the truth, she isimited and it is profoundly sad. I feel rage toward her, I really do and I'm sure I am not the only one. She is doing the least courageous thing by staying. She is like one of those mothers of incest survivors who do not believe the child but will side with the psychopathic spouse because they are desperate for the connection and cannot bear being alone. They do not have the core psychological maturity and ego strength you see in a healthy person. She is sick in her own way too.
