Last month, Pepper, who became the youngest person elected to Decatur’s city council last year, vowed that he would “fight to the end” against another city mask mandate..

I wonder if he prefers his nurses to be unvaccinated.

One after another of them getting seriously sick or killed by COVID yet they STILL don't understand or believe any of what's happening right before their own eyes.

Are we having another pandemic - of mental illness?

Is this brand of MAGA conservatism actually just a form of mental illness?

More and more I think it is.

At this point I think not wearing a mask (and not vaccinating yourself) is like a symbol that you belong to the tribe. And it’s way past the point of no return. It’s getting to the point where I don’t even want to visit red counties any more. It’s way too dangerous. I was in a fast food restaurant in Trump country recently and was the *only one* wearing a mask (including the employees) and I absolutely stuck out like a sore thumb. For a moment I honestly thought that they would refuse to serve me. People in these areas are under *tremendous* peer pressure to conform. I really think COVID is going to spread like wildfire in these deeply conservative areas.

My daughter and I were in Kentucky in late July. We went into a Moe's and were the only customers in line wearing masks. The guy behind us looked at us and then asked the worker, "Are we required to wear masks again?" Everywhere we went, it was same story - Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia - we were almost always the only ones wearing masks indoors. I know I live in a highly educated, highly liberal bubble in my county, and frankly, I am glad!

I live in north east Ohio and my county is over 70% vaccinated and most people are voluntarily wearing masks. Don’t generalize.

I was not in northeast Ohio. I was in southern Ohio and then southwest Ohio, then Columbus to Zanesville. Even in Whole Foods in outside Columbus, we were one of only a few wearing masks. This was the end of July. It might be different now. I live in a county that is 82% partially vaccinated (79% partially) and lots of mask wearing, but my state is in the bottom half of vaccination rates. When I leave my county, it is a whole different story with masks.

You have to study to be an EMT? That’s a super low paying job.

Are you serious? Do you really want someone untrained using a defibrillator, administering medications, setting broken bones, putting someone with potential spinal injuries in traction, and many other tasks that EMT have to do daily as part of their jobs?

How many conservative radio hosts have died in the last month? Many

Let the GOP get sick I don't care anymore. They don't care about us why in the world should we care about them. I thought about this a lot before covid I would feel sad even if someone i was not fond of died. Now no empathy.

Subhuman traitors, idiots. They are making children sick for god's sake. Shame on all of them.

I accompanied a relative when he had surgery in north central Ohio in July. Even in the hospital, on the surgical floor, nurses wore their masks underneath their noses, an X-ray technician had her mask down around her neck, and I was told I didn’t need to wear a mask at all (by nurses who didn’t know my vaccine status). The surgeon stopped by, in between surgeries, to ask if relative had any questions and even the surgeon wasn’t wearing his mask properly! It was supposed to tie behind his head in 2 places and he had the bottom untied, so the mask was basically just hanging loosely in front of his face. It was surreal. I understand that masks weren’t legally required at that point, but seeing surgical staff improperly masked while caring for an elderly cancer patient was unnerving.

I’m early July Ohio had extremely low cases of COVID. There wasn’t community spread.
