What a stupid choice. A weird, isolationist Republican.

You forgot old. And from a bright red state. Just a perfect choice all around, right?

That site is really fishy.

Gretchen Whitmer is in the news more often these days. I like her, good balance of sharp and warm. Seems very capable.

No unity ticket with Biden. He's too old, can't risk presidency going back to GOP. Nobody wants 7-2 conservative SCOTUS

Yeah seriously. No fcking thanks. We've seen what Republicans do with power. I am ready for Democrats to be the adults in the room.

I think a Biden + Warren ticket would show a lot of unity to the country, especially with the Bernie Bros going as rogue as MAGAts. The GOP just doesn’t exist anymore. It is literally now the MAGAtrump Corporation. Don’t really trust them or their shady dark donors. Real estate crisis wasn’t far from Trump’s real estate games either. No, no, no.

Still like Biden/Warren best, but #BNMW.

Biden has committed to a woman but he also needs relative youth to excite younger voters who stayed home in the primaries and color to help heal deep racial divisions of past few years.

I like Warren, Klobuchar and Harris but they will not balance out Biden enough.

Apart from being smart, like able and competent, Stacey Abrams and the Latina New Mexico Governor Lujan-Grisham would likely excite the base and balance Biden’s perceived shortcomings of being old, stale and as diverse as a NY St Paddy’s Day parade.

I was sure it was Harris - but now Whitmer seems like the obvious (and good) choice.

They aren't going rogue. They have been that way for 4 years. Bernie is just as compromised as Trump. Can we please get away from Bernie?

I don’t think she is the obvious choice at all - although she has many strengths.

Whitmer is Michigan based and Biden from Delaware. She is also white. So she does not check geographic or race/ ethnicity diversity boxes. He may be Better served by a charismatic smart black or Latina woman from the south ...

He is the living worst.

I like Whitmer just fine, but I don’t want governors pulled away from their states for campaigning right now. In the absence of leadership, we absolutely need the governors where they are.

Michigan is a very different geographic box from Delaware.

Surely you know enough of American geography to see Delaware and Michigan are different parts of hte country? Also Michigan is one of the key states this election.

I'd wanted and expected a woman of color to be his VP - like everyone who thinks like me, I thought Harris or Abrams were the clear picks. It just feels like Whitmer is - minus being white, which is not nothing - turning into a very solid choice from a very important state.

No need to be patronizing - I have visited both Delaware and Michigan - they are easy to drive to from DC. Michigan is a lovely place and their flagship university is top notch in so many fields ... however, I do think people from the south and south west would be more excited about someone from Georgia or New Mexico. It will be important for the selection to energize voters.
