Very curious why this has yet to be explored or suggested.

What kind of troll comment is this? Did you not listen to a word that countless Magruder parents testified to??? Why in gods name would Magruder kids want to commute to a school that is marginally better than their own? The commute only makes sense if Magruder gets to use the newly built Crown while their own school gets rebuilt.

Yea no shit everyone wins but Magruder in your proposal. Magruder—the one that needs the most amount of attention with the worst FCI and the highest FARMS.

If magruder is actually getting a new school they can suck it up and deal with Wootton for two years. Pretty decent trade.

Except Magruder isn’t even on CIP (step 2) nor is Wootton renovations (step 1).

If Magruder goes to Crown, it reduces at least one step.

How about this solution: put Wootton renovations on CIP, as well as Magruder.
Once Magruder rebuilt is done, put Horizon Hill, Fallsgrove, and Cold Spring back at Wootton.

Open Crown as a perm school with Fields Road, Rosemont, Rio, and Dufief in meantime.

Better yet: get the ES boundary study done. Once that’s complete and DuFief has been absorbed into Stone Mill, send the whole of Stone Mill and Travilah to Crown too to make way for Ritchie Park and Wayside at Wootton. Then we can finally abolish the concept of “North” Potomac altogether.

Well obviously that’s incorrect - Wayside would never. The audacity

I think this is a great idea - Wootton on the Parkway with Magruder kids as a hybrid option.

This idea is beginning to make more and more sense.

Move Magruder to Wootton to go with Fallsmead Lakewood and Cold Spring, that would put the building at about ~1900 perfect for capacity.

Open Crown as a permanent school with Fields Road, Rosemont, Rio, Dufief, Stone Mill, and Travilah. It can now take even more from QO and Gaithersburg High School.

In the meantime do the ES/MS study. By the time that is done, Magruder will be able done too with rebuild.

Move Fallsgrove, Horizon Hill, and whatever has changed about ES—like Wayside—to Wootton.

Genuinely, who is the loser of this plan? It seems like everyone gets what they want, just on a different timeline. But the Wootton walkers get to stay at Wootton. Magruder gets a new build. Crown gets its school.

The original options received extensive discussions. This modified H simply did not receive any community inputs before it was recommended. Weird stuff!

That’s the process. Did you watch the presentation? Newb

Stonemill doesn’t have space for Dufief as it hasn’t even counted the grove students. There are sudden influx of 90 new students this year alone.

DuFief can comfortably be split into Stone Mill, Fields Road and Travilah. And they can all go to the brand new school in their very same zip code that’s closer to them than Wootton Pkwy and make room for Ritchie Park and Wayside. No more crowding at RM, Churchill, QO, Gaithersburg or Wootton. Problem solved.

It would split Wootton cluster even more. Why would they do that? Just to placate Parkway parents?

Yep, because the boundary decision revolves around the parkway walkers and no one else. This wouldn’t fly though because then those parents would be so concerned about their kids mixing with kids from (gasp) other parts of the county, and even farms kids. We know how those parkway parents feel about them. receipts.

Genuinely, I think that these are the options they should present to Wootton families--either go to crown with 5 of your current feeders and 2 new schools or split and allow those closest to the current building to remain on the parkway with Magruder as their school is renovated at some point.

Do it. I prefer this option than going to school with Dufief

What grade are you in?

Ritchie Park wants nothing to do with Wootton anymore. Wayside god forbid. The Wootton whiners I mean walkers can stay at their building. But it’s Magruder now, in a holding school. Wootton gets to be separate but equal right alongside of them. No sports for them! It’s not their school.

Dufief Stone Mill Travilah can all go to Crown with Rosemont and Fields Road.

No worries! I’ve been tallying it up the whole time - it’s a close one. Keep going - you’re doing great sweetie.
