Agreed. We are untouched and a pretty urban community. I’m sure those further out will take some time to dig out tomorrow and Wednesday. Def won’t be ready for kids/buses

WTF? No, school will be open on Wednesday. All the main roads are clear now, the neighborhood roads will be cleared tomorrow.

My money is on a two-hr delay for Wednesday.

Nah closed on Wednesday, will also close on Thursday so kids can watch coverage of Carter’s funeral.

Ding, ding, ding

The county already said we aren’t closed Thursday.

I really think people underestimate how many streets don’t get plowed or get only one pass.

Fcps won't be closed for the funeral Thursday

Fcps will be closed on Thursday because of "ice" in Clifton and Herndon, as a pretense for giving a day off for the funeral

It’s not going to get above 30F until Saturday at the earliest, and will be 20f or below every night. Are you aware of what happens to plowed roads when it’s that temperature, or do you get your weather information from RFK Jr?

Yet millions will make their daily commute.

and kids in areas far colder manage to go to school all winter long.

What is that I hear your foot stomping

So get out of the bubble!! We all can't be sipping hot chocolate.

Get out of your bubble school is not your personal nanny

It has started snowing again and if we get an inch the schools will definitely be closed Wednesday. They would have to re-plow all the roads and the neighborhoods wont be clear until Wednesday

DP. I live on a cul de sac that seldom gets plowed. It's been plowed today. And, yes, it will likely ice over some tomorrow, but, I would plan on Wednesday--with a delay. Roads can be treated.

I think Wednesday is a toss up...def a delay but could be a closing. Enjoy the snow, cocoa, and games with your kids. Or stomp your feet and be angry about it.

Ok, I think being off today and tomorrow is the right call because this area doesn’t handle snow well, let’s be honest. But no one who is stressed about the weather closures is “enjoying snow, cocoa, and games with the kids.” They’re trying to work, as well as manage their kids at home after a very long 2 week break, and it’s stressful. Shades of 2020-2021. Let’s try to just get through this. If the second wave of snow tonight doesn’t drop too much and if it doesn’t drag on too long into Tuesday morning, I’m thinking positive thoughts for school on Weds with a probable 2 hour delay. I’ve been out shoveling and snowblowing all day and the snow is fairly dry/powdery and removal hasn’t been too difficult.

LOL.....I need popcorn to read your rant-so funny and dramatic. Next time use all CAPS like some of your teary foot stomping friends.

They were not. And custodians don’t plow parking lots anyway.

Custodians have been called in to report on Tuesday morning.

And yes, custodians do not plow parking lots. That’s contracted out.

Curious if there are staffing / labor issues (shortages) related to snow clearing.

Most schools are short on custodians

Why?

DP. It is good for the brain to shake things up a bit. Like taking a different route home from work is healthy for your brain.

Um, kids have been home since December 21. At this point school would be the change in routine needed to shake things up.

You’re so desperate. It’s fun to watch.

That was the first comment I made on this whole thread. We went on vacation somewhere warm in the middle of break, so we are good in terms of not being too stir crazy. But I completely understand why people want their kids back in school. That is the normal way to feel at this point after two weeks. This forum is not at all representative of normal. It’s full of overly anxious + miserable losers like yourself who feel the need to antagonize.

LOL keep crying.

Nah it’s you responding to yourself. PP is spot on. No one can stand being around you and you weren’t important enough to be working today. So here you sit. Loser.
