I'm glad that Miranda was definitely against SROs in 2021. I hope she hasn't changed her mind since then. I just think a lot of the angst would be alleviated if she just posted to her website where she stands on all school push button issues.

Youngkin has changed the game because he's obviously running for president and wants to DeSantis Virginia. Both candidates will have to answer these questions in Arlington. We are a progressive place.

You haven't seen the video that was posted then. Miranda clearly said that she is pro-SRO at the end of the session and explained why. No debate there. It's on video.

Antonio is barely a college graduate with no family here, nor any ties to APS or Arlington at all. He's from California - no experience, but high political ambitions, likely also no intention of staying here.

I don't think Miranda has too many devoted fans, just the ones in her APE base. They are very loud (and active on DCUM!), so they come across as more than they are. Miranda would not have a prayer against an actual normal candidate. She lost overwhelmingly to Mary Kadera and she didn't even try to run against Bethany Sutton.

But against Angelo, who knows.

There is a lot of hate on here for Miranda. Reid was a worthless SB member who didn’t announce he was retiring until the last day before the filing deadline. I see no complaints about him. He was rude to me several times during open office hours. He clearly is sexist and doesn’t respect women, and fears strong women who speak their mind.

I see that bias and hatred runs strong on DCUM too. Miranda is a Mom of three whose very young kids struggled with a year on screens in their house. I am a woman and I have very serious concerns about Miranda. We have an almost entirely female school board. I don't see any bias against women here.

Since you're so concerned with discrimination, let's get back to the real issue - Miranda's refusal thus far to take a clear stance on trans kids' rights.

I'm a working mom with four small children. Still not voting for Miranda. Don't want to vote for Angelo either. But here we are.
